But they didn't waive Donald Thomas to bring Cannon onto the 53-man (Ventrone waived for the gazillionth time instead). Makes me think the coaching staff wants to see how he does with actual game-speed reps before cutting the backup.

They also might concerned about the health of some of the other OL. Or they plan on using Cannon as more of a blocking TE for the time being.

Not that I wasn't mildly surprised either than Mr. Duck stuck. I just don't think they are that worried about NFL experience when the the guy MC replaces wasn't getting on the field anyway.

By the same token, if Cannon gets some game reps against KC, in whatever role, and doesn't break anything, we could easily see Thomas gone (and Ventrone back ...... again) before the Philly game.

Hell, if Solder clears the cobwebs and Vollmer's back doesn't act up, we could see that happen before the KC game.

I'm very happy for him kicking cancer's butt and finally getting his chance on the field.

I guess he did not lose much weight during his recovery. Its amazing if he can get on the field. I guess they always thought he had a chance when they did not IR him.
