What are we going to do about #33

His PUP time is up next week. He says he's ready. What happens? Who gets cut to make room for him? I honestly thought he would announce his retirement, but it's not looking that way.

Woodhead shouldn't be out too long and Ridley looks more like a 3rd down back than an every-down kind of guy. I don't think they'll take any chances on losing Vereen just yet by waiving him or putting him on the practice squad. And of course BJGE is the primary ball carrier at this point.

If Vollmer is OK and his back isn't bothering him anymore (which I'm not too optimistic about), they could conceivably carry only two TEs (have Solder come in as eligible if they need a 3rd to block) and cut Dan Gronk, and possibly carry 5 RBs. But that seems like one of those sentimental moves that BB is not likely to make. It's a little easier to justify carrying a 6th WR than a 5th RB, but he's done that kind of thing before.

I guess we'll have to see.

They'll still have up to another six weeks to deal with it. After Sunday's game, they have three weeks to remove him from the PUP and start practicing, then once he starts practicing, they have another three weeks to activate, IR or release him.

This may resolve itself with an injury here or there.

Don't they get 3 more weeks to decide whether or not they're going to practice, and then 3 weeks after that to decide what to do?

I think if the Patriots are 9-1 going into week 12, Faulk may move to IR. If not, maybe you see him.

If they want to cut Edelman and use Faulk on PR and KR, I'd be totally fine with that.

Faulk obviously offers more total value, but doesn't belong on the field returning anything.

Yes, I definitely want to use him. He's as natural a Kick Returner, hell, ANY kind of returner as the Patriots have ever had. KR isn't just about straight-line speed, and certainly not PR.
