That was not the point of the list, it was just the best draft picks. Luck or not, it can be looked at as a good draft pick.

I would think they would take into account where they were drafted.

But then, you'd figure Joe Montana would have been right behind Brady at number two since he was a 3rd rounder.

No that list is not in order, not sure what the order is. Brady is not number 1, he name just ends in a B, so he was first on their list.

Well, since there's only 1 #1 overall pick on that list, apparently its not as easy as you might think. And when you add in the HUGE debate that year--Manning or Leaf, it merits a place I believe......

They saw enough value to use a pick on him. They didn't just put a bunch of names in a hat and draw one. It was a good pick that they got lucky with.
