How many players will the Patriots acutally draft?

OK so we know that they have 11 picks right now. And we know that they can't trade the 3 comp picks.

So, when the draft is finally over, how many player will the Patriots actually draft?

I understand that this is a draft thread and we have a draft forum. But this does not require any knowledge of players in the draft. Just a simple question that any Patriots fan should be able to speculate on.

I'm going with 9 total. That means they will either trade up, down, or out to next year 2 pcks when all is said and done.

Originally I thought they would pick up at least 10 picks and another 6-7 UDFA, now I've pulled back to 6-7 picks and 4-5 UDFA.

I agree. But I'm guessing only six. Quality not quantity. He pockets in the process at least two extra's to get next years up and running, including either a first in 2010 or second (likely scenario - one of the deuces for an ace in 2010). That's 1 pick. Three comp's make four picks and three players this year. Leaving 7 Picks to move around with, find three guys and stash one (or more) more.
