"QB’s mother: Titans’ Young ‘hurting inside’"

Quote:
NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP)—The mother of Titans quarterback Vince Young said he’s “hurting inside and out” and indicated he doesn’t want to play football.
Felicia Young said in Wednesday editions of The Tennessean that her son is tired of all the negativity he’s faced after being booed during a 17-10 win Sunday over Jacksonville. On Monday, Titans coach Jeff Fisher called police to help find him.
“What would you think, if you were tired of being ridiculed and persecuted and talked about and not being treated very well, what would you do? What kind of decision would you make?” Felicia Young said “He may not want to deal with it (all), but you have to get to that point before you make that decision first.
“But we’re not talking about football right now. We’re talking about what would make him happy, and that is the most important thing.”

Looks like you may not be the only franchise short their starting QB for the season...

Of course IMO a Youngless Titans are a far better team. So it's not quite the same effect.

He's a professional football player. Grow up and act like it. And if you don't like the crap you're taking from the fans, play better or quit.

What I think is hilarious, is that Vince Young has been the most overhyped player in the NFL since he entered the league, and has has a rediclous amount of undeserved praise heaped his way.

He gets boo'ed once for sucking, and turns suicidal and talks (again) about quitting the league.

Talk about mental toughness!

Yup, this guy is done, done, done. I don't see how he ever becomes a viable NFL QB now.

Well Tennessee, back to the QB drawing board.

Initially, I made ALOT of pot shots about this. But knowing what depression and bi-polar disorder can do to a person, I don't find it so comical anymore.

If he's suffering from BPD, he should quit the sport and focus more on making himself better. That kind of pain can be more excruciating than any physical injury.

There are plenty of meds for that. He ought to look into it.

On another note, this is more motivation for Cassel to do good. Tennessee would probably be looking for a young QB who can play under pressure. If Cassel can do it this year, he'll get a good payday next year.

I would think taking a bath filled with the millions of dollars he swindled from the Titans and his sponsers should go a long way to cheering him up...

Meds can help IF there's no mental solution. But all meds really do is keep it at bay, not really cure it. You end up becoming too dependent on them, which isn't good either.

A good shrink and good sessions usually work better.

Hey Vince:

Don't thank me. I'm just glad to help.

You'd be surprised how little people care about material goods when they're clinically depressed or suffering BPD.

Has he been diagnosed with depression and/or bipolar?

If not, then he just needs to grow up and deal with the realities of the professional sports world!

If so, then he needs to take his meds and maybe a hiatus from work until he's better.

But quit crying about how he can't stand being booed.
