... I just heard on t.v. that 28 year old "Ryan" from the t.v. show "The Bachelorette" was once an NFL draftee!... What I want to know is this: What team drafted him and at what position, etc...? Does anyone know?...
I am guessing that he went to school in Colorado, as that is where he lives... (NOT that I watch the show or anything...) But, ya gotta admit that he is pretty adorable... Fire fighter, poet, painter... **sigh**
Any insight on this before tomorrow night's finale would be greatly appreciated... Thanks!

Ryan Leaf.

Thought I had a match. A Ryan Thelwell, WR, drafted by the 49ers in the 7th round of the 1998 draft. Played college ball at Minnesota. The TV show "Ryan" bio lists him as 27, so assuming he was 22 when drafted, that would be the '98 draft. His bio lists him at 6-2, 200 pounds. Ryan Thelwell was listed as 6-2, 193#.

BUT....he's listed as being from Ontario, and played in the CFL last year. So dunno if that jibes with the Colorado firefighter stuff.

Another possibility. Ryan Stewart, drafted by the Lions in '96. A DB who played ball at GaTech. Found a listing of him as 6-1, 207#. Cannot find hometown.

Ryan Wood....RB from ASU drafted by the Cowboys, same year. Also listed as FB by some sites, but cannot find any H/W info, let alone much else.

If the guy's name is actually Ryan, and he was actually drafted, my bet would be on Stewart. Given the guy's age, he's one of the few likely candidates. Most of the "Ryan"s I found drafted, were linemen on either side of the ball.

It helps to have lived in Colorado for ten years -- I vaguely remembered him playing for CU. The answer is Ryan Sutter.

He was drafted by the Ravens as a safety, released before the start of the season, spent time on the Carolina practice squad, drafted/assigned? to Barcelona of NFLe. (per the link below.)

So here's a line from the poem he wrote: "May the night bring sweet dreams and the morning blue skies." Hawg I think your position as Poet in Residence is safe for the moment. It's not exactly Jheelizar. This guy is obviously reading from a box of Claritin. The next line is something like: "May your congestion be gone, so you can get on with your day...." The line about side effects being mild to moderate was the giveaway.

Ryan Sutter, ay? He's positively DREAMY, but I never would have guessed that he had played football... He just doesn't look like he has the "killer instinct"... But, maybe that's why he isn't playing in the NFL...
Anyhoo--my guess is that Trista doesn't pick him 'cuz he lives in CO and she lives in CA, as she likes warm climates. Charlie, on the other hand, already lives in CA and it was kind of love at first sight with those two... All of which would leave poor Ryan out in the cold all alone... Maybe it's a girl-thing, NR, but his poetic words sure made ME melt!...
