I think that this is good news...
![]() But then, I am an old softie and love to hear about a player wanting to begin and end his career with the same TEAM. Salary caps and Free Agency have created parity in this league, but they have done nothing to engender LOYALTY between players and organizations... I believe that there is a lot to be said for loyalty and continuity. Just my humble opinion, though... ![]() btw--this deal would have to make economic sense for the Pats, of course, in that it should not be done to the detriment of signing some young defensive players, as well. |

Never been a big fan of McGoo so IMHO I think it is way past time he gave some $$$ back to the team (and I mean more than 1-2 million). For $10 million this year I feel pretty confident that the Pats could find a few free agent DEs that could replace McGoo. Not to mention improve the performance from that position.

If McGinest really wants to come back would he do it for a veteran minimum or slightly above? He really disappeared over the second half of the season. I'm sure that didn't help the Pats defensive woes down the stretch. I still hope they can sign an OLB free agent like a Colvin!
