I was skeptical about posting this here
BUT... I see pretty much anything goes so long as we dont offend and hurt ppl in the process.


I got this in email, a small clip of Jim Rome. I do like him, not all the times but most of the time he is a hoot.

This is what he had to say about the new boss in NY

Hey, George Jr…I love the swagger. No one likes a ‘smack running’ owner more than yours truly…but let me once again remind you, the entire universe is not centered in New York City . Things that matter really do happen outside ‘the Apple’. As hard as that may be for you to believe…and as far as the nation being an ESPN creation…they must have skipped over that during my company orientation. I didn’t get that memo. The Budweiser hot-seat is an ESPN creation, the Red Sox Nation isn’t.

That was born out of their winning it all twice in the last four years…and I’m here to tell you…’chowd’ fans are everywhere. Go to an Angels game out here, and it’s Fenway West…and you know why, George Jr.? It’s because they’re winning and you’re not. They’re better than you. The ‘chowd nation’ is not a figment of your imagination. How do you like them apples, George Jr….ehhhh.

I saw that. How laughable. One has to admit that Luchhino has made comments in the past that are just as unbecoming but nothing like sinking to the level!

I liked Papelbon's response:

"I don't know if he's trying to stir things up or not," he said. "I sure as hell don't care, because he sure as hell hasn't stepped foot on a baseball field. He needs to just stick to pencil-pushing, I guess. It's different if a player says that because they're the ones stepping between the war lines. Whatever, man. I'm not going to lose sleep over it, that's for sure. He's just trying to come up with something."

I saw that last week. John Henry sent him a person invite to be an honorary member of Redsox Nation, after Hank's comments. Hank declined.

What have they done as of late?
Hell, in the middle of the country I have definitely seen a good share of redsox hats...funny, haven't seen any NY ones (and this coming from a cubs fan).

I love Wrigley. I was at one of the interleague games when the Red Sox came to town in 2005. Awesome place.
