OK...Actually it is the Kanamara Matsuri called Festival of the Steel Phallus is an Shinto fertility festival held in Wakamiya Hachimangu Shrine, Kawasaki , Japan. Created back in Japan's Edo period ( 1603-1867) to pray for sexual safety , especially against syphilis , among Kawasaki's prostitutes.æ Now the festival raises funds for AIDS charities, attracts childless couples praying for fertility and offers people a place to pray for protection from sexually transmitted diseases .
