No Football Talk, Just Smack Talk!!!

Guys, im a newbie here when it comes to the Playoffs so obviously i dont know what to expect, but all i see here when i log on is Thrash Talk from a sudden burst of jets fans that have joined & replies from our regulars!!!

Q: if we beat the jets & play lets say Baltimore next, will there then be an Influx of Balt fans Smack Talking here Aswell???

Dont take this the wrong way (before someone attacks me) but i was kinda looking foward to some Decent Football X's & O's talk about the two teams..

So B_O_R, JD & Hawg please start posting some Analysis for me (& i assume others aswell) to Read & Enjoy

And (ill definatley get jumped on for saying this), Isnt it kinda Dangerous to look past the jets to the next game. (Any Given Sunday and all that!) or is that just part of the smack Talk?

There is always more trash talk in the playoffs. We try to encourage visiting trolls to talk more about football and less trash, but there are always those that are only here to talk trash. It is an interesting line to walk, and the members here really determine how far it should go.

In past we have had one thread each week dedicated to just trash talk, and it is welcomed in the asylum too.

Talking a little trash is always fun. As for the 'looking past the Jets (or whoever is next)' thread....that is something that thomas has been doing for a looooooong time. It's become a part of the fabric of this site and is almost like the karma thread: it's just not the same without it, IAO.

Annihilus is happy to play up (or down) to the competition that the other team brings...every fan base is different. What is a bit different this time around is that there are MANY MORE Jets trolls fans that are showing up than usual (we could always count on Bwanny to show up, but he didn't usually bring that many friends with him). That's what finally winning one game against the Pats will do, evidently, but is not entirely unexpected.

It's been a while since we had all the smack in one thread....that worked out ok, but was a little work to keep maintained.

One other thing about trash talk here that I meant to mention but has been said many times....

Most of the seasoned members here will respond in kind. If a Jets fan starts a thoughtful Xs and Os discussion, he will get thoughtful replies. If they bring trash, they will respond in kind.

It just seems way too much bs trash talk about the Jets. It is hard to sift thru all the same bs over and over.

I think that taking a bye week from talking smack will leave you rusty for next week. A certain minimum level of smack talk must occur this week to avoid this. You can always remove your best smack talk at halftime and let some of your younger less experienced smack talk get some time.

I think you also have to take into consideration that the Patriots and Jets are division rivals. This accounts for two things: 1) The two teams have a long history of playing each other. Both teams and both fanbases have had plenty of time to disect the other teams X's and O's, and doing it again for this playoff game would be just as repetitive to some as all the trash talk is to you. 2) The two fanbases, having played each other twice a year for the last 30 years, have had plenty of time to build up animosity toward each other. Its no coincidense that the opposing fanbases that we Patriot fans get along with the least are the Dolphins, Jets, and Colts (former division rivals).

All good points sc, but is it not possible to debate which team is better with football analysis??? You know this hes crap, hes crap $hit gets boring after a while!!!

I dont know, as im pretty new here myself, but i would expect that next week will be more like last week vs the Titans. There will be some opposing fans, but not as many as this week.

This really isn't all that out of the ordinary. You take a team that has been pwned for years (The Jets) that manage to beat the team that has done the pwning (The Pats).....and all the chirpy birds come out of their house to buzz the normally dominant team.

To some people, sh!t slinging is as fun as analysis....they each have their place and both of them can get boring after a while.
