Carmen Bricillo could replace him.

no but he does to Light, Kazcur, or Armstrong ( I just liked how he handled Bruce Smith) at one time the OLine was 6-4 and 305to 315 lbs and mobile.

the center being the exception of that size. Solder and Volmer were the exception when they arrived.

Agree. And they were here a long time and the system was adapted to their body types according to the OPT article.

He was also a director of video services once upon a time. Never know when that will come in handy.

Wynn was hand chosen by Scar, so there's that.

My thinking is that since Light and Solder both had issues with speed rushers, Scar felt better feet, better agility and balance were needed more than length. Hence, Wynn.

I've heard it suggested
that since Thuney is almost certainly gone (he's likely going to get an offer far in excess of what BB can or will pay) then bump Wynn inside to guard and get a LT in the draft.

Quote:
Now, Thuney is heading to the open market this offseason. Hell likely get a huge deal because of his consistency and availability. It would be surprising to see Belichick pay top dollar to both of his guards. So, it looks like the Patriots would be in the market for a guard this offseason. Could Wynn be that guy?

His smaller frame and experience playing left guard at Georgia could make him a great candidate. Moving him to guard could allow for more mobility and deception with pulls on the offensive line. Mason is already great on the move, so adding Wynns skill set could make that a dangerous combination.

If the Patriots want the prototypical 6-foot-5-and-above offensive tackle, Wynns versatility, allowing him to kick inside, would give them the freedom to go after their guy. Belichick may go out in the draft and take Louisville left tackle Mekhi Becton (6-foot-7) in the first round. He could sign Eagles tackle Halapoulivaati Vaitai (6-foot-6) in free agency. Of course, this is all decided by Belichick, and maybe more important, offensive line coach Dante Scarnecchia.
Here's what Walter's Football has to say about Becton.

Quote:
Mekhi Becton*, OT, Louisville
Height: 6-7. Weight: 369.
Projected 40 Time: 5.60.
Projected Round (2020): 1-2. 1/13/20: Late in the 2019 regular season, WalterFootball.com surveyed scouts for players who are being underrated for the 2020 NFL Draft, and Becton was one of the names that was returned. Becton went under the radar in 2019, but he has a ton of talent to translate to the NFL.

Becton is a giant blocker who is similar to Cordy Glenn. While Becton (6-7,330) is huge, he is a good athlete for his size and moves pretty well in space. He does a nice job in the ground game of sustaining his blocks. Even though he is massive, Becton is not a true bull who overpowers defenders. He makes it tough for them to get free with his size as he turns and manipulates them. In pass protection, he needs to improve his hand placement as he can get too wide and let defenders get their hands in chest. That can make Becton have problems with bull rushes, but overall, he is a reliable pass protector.

8/17/19: Becton is a massive blocker who is a pretty good athlete for his size. For the next level, it would help him to trim some weight and get in better condition. However, teams like his talent and upside, and some have placed him as having potential to be selected in the top half of the 2020 NFL Draft entering his junior season.
So with a expected pick in the 1st or 2nd round, he could be there at 23.

If they do go this route, then the article I cited in my previous post would seem to be even more important.

Or more simply, there wasnt anyone with that height/length rated that high that could come in and possibly start
