Kraft Says We Should Chill About Brady Missing OTAs

Kraft says TB will definitely attend Mini-camp starting June 5.

"I think he's very excited about the upcoming season," Kraft told a small group of reporters at the NFL's spring meeting in Atlanta. "These are voluntary workouts, and I think he's in great shape. I think he's at an age where -- I was thinking back to when he joined us -- he's blessed to have three children now and built a number of businesses and has certain responsibilities. I think it's very hard for him to fulfill those during the season and the commitment he has to football. I can only say this: I know he's very excited about being at minicamp and having a very special season this year."
Asked about the perception of a rift between Brady and head coach Bill Belichick, or perhaps the organization, Kraft said, "From my point of view, nothing's changed. Everything is good and I think he's very excited about coming back, and I know we're excited to have him. We look forward to a great football season."

This^ And I believe this is real talk, not just the party line. It's Kraft believing in the character of his people.

Cheers

I expect Tom Brady can miss this time with no negative effect on him. He may be the most experienced player in the entire league...at least QB to be sure.

That said, he isn't the only one that benefits from him being there. There are additions to the roster from rookies to free agents that would benefit greatly from working with him.

This.

I’m of the belief the OTAs at this stage do next to nothing for Tom. It’s the ancillary benefit to the new offense pieces and the work he provides against the D.

Plus just what a leader of men does.

Saw Curran & Mayo on tv last night. Curran tried being wise saying reps were going Hoyer- Caserio-Hoyer-Caserio, thinking he was cracking a funny. Mayo cut him off and said flatly Caserio has a fun and throws better than Hoyer.

Currans joke dissipated.

Bobby’s trying his hardest to just give space and smooth everything over to reap as much reward as he can for the next 2-3 yrs.

Transition is on the horizon, and if the next guy isn’t found he knows what Miami, Cleve, J-E-T-E, et al have gone thru.

I’m sure some nights are sleepless already.

That’s a massive nut dropped on RT 1 to end up a potential ghost town.

Which is one big reason I didn't get overly excited when I read that Deion Crossen had a big day yesterday.

Lets see him do it while covering Edelman with Brady in the pocket and then I might take notice.

Picking off Hoyer isn't any major accomplishment. Everybody does it.

Caserio beat out Josh in college making Josh the original little white receiver in his offense.

We have never needed Brady in order to make our pass defense look bad.

Thatís the point.

If they can work hard and perform against him they can do it against anyone.
