2K..... not that much really, 32K a year if they do them all plus expenses no doubt. I wouldn't call them scabs, just want to make a buck or 2K of them. What do the regulars make???? One cannot blame them for doing it............

BB deserves the fine. He contacted a ref. Seems simple to me. I understand his frustration, but the reality is poor play calling and execution combined with great defense from the Ravens was why the Patriots lost, not the refs.

This is false. BB does deserve the fine. But this is the first time I've ever said about a Pats game, in 25+ years of watching as a fan, the refs gave this game away to the Ravens. Could and should the Pats have played better? Of course they should have, you could say that after any game, win or lose. But the refs and phantom holding and PI calls that extended 2 separate Baltimore scoring drives when they should have been coming off the field after legitimate stops, a complete lack of holding calls on anyone not named Yanda who played for the Ravens, and a horrible OPI call on Edelman literally gave the game away. The NFL is now a farce, and last night just reinforced what I saw all day and night Sunday.

You are right. I forgot to add shitty defense from the Patriots from the 3rs series on. Blaming the refs is weak sauce.

Go watch the game again, focus on Jones and Ninkovich. The "bad defense" is rooted in both ends being egregiously held on every play, allowing Rice to get to the outside - something that was not happening in the previous 2 games or the first 3 series of the game. Want to see what changed? It was Blatimore figuring out they could get away with Murder (see what I did there) and sticking with it once they figured it out. Nothing changed schematically on the D. And when they weren't mugging both ends and running it down our throats, forcing 8 into the box, the refs gave Blatimore 3 separate free first downs that would have ended drives on excellent defensive plays that WERE NOT FOULS IN ANY WAY, SHAPE, OR FORM. You want to blame the D for making 3 great, drive ending plays that they were inappropriately flagged for? Be my guest, but it's asinine to blame people who did well for the mistakes of the zebras.

I agree. Bill got a bit heated and lost his composure for a change.

What he should have done is run all the way down the field with the ref demanding an explanation and every camera would have been trained on the best coach in league history, one that NEVER bitches about the refs, being totally ignored by a scrub that was overwhelmed by his job demands.

That would have made a greater impact than grabbing the guy and he couldn't have been fined. It could have been an iconic moment in this half-assed labor dispute. Instead, somehow HE made himself look like the bad guy to many.

I don't know. It kind of reminded me of Bobby Knight throwing the chair across the court. I think BB may actually win some fans over for this. Fans that are sick of these replacement refs. For once, people outside of NE will have to agree that he was fighting for the integrity of the game.

It reminded me of when Bill Cowher shoved a photo in the refs pocket.

I also agree about the fans backing BB on this.

LOL, that's a good one!!!

Just had PFT live on from yesterday, and they had former NFL official Jim Daopolis (SP?) on and he discussed the BB thing. He said that had he been that ref, he would have stopped to give BB an explanation and he felt that was all BB wanted.

Just to be clear, no fine has been issued yet. I would imagine the league has more pressing issues right now.

Refs don't work in a bubble, and I've seen many explain calls to numerous coaches through the years. The refs on Sunday night couldn't get the hell out of Dodge fast enough.

If we have to live in this boring world where "every scoring play is reviewed" then why was the FG not reviewed? I mean, I don't know if it is clear from a replay if it went through or not, but if they are supposed to review every scoring play, then there is a controversial scoring play, and it's not reviewed, I chase down a ref and grab him too.
