I havenít seen a level speck of ground when they pan that place. The whole fvcking joint looks like where The Grinch lives. I donít think theyíd have a hard time finding a killer downhill course.

The day turned out to be known as "The best skiing trip that never was" and lives in infamy due to the debauchery that ensued.

Seconds after the crash and once we realized nobody was hurt, my cousin said "Holy Shit! The bus went off the road in Central Maine and we didn't hit a single washing machine!"

Unfair, sure, but it was pretty funny at the time.
Not entirely inaccurate.

It is truly amazing the number of home appliances that make it out not on the backyard, no sir, right out front.

Old washer? Next to the mailbox love.

Fridge? Oh honey, thatíd go perfect right next to the front porch to place goods on as I enter the house.

Dishwasher? Next to the driveway. You can toss your empties innit Earl whilst youíre out in your car listening to your fancy-schmancy Sat too light radio.

You forgot the couple of used pickups repurposed as outdoor storage.

Yeah, he's had some pretty good zingers during the course of the competition, but I hit my sugar saturation point during the ladies finals last night. If I had a buck for every time Weir told me a jump or a spin or a butt wiggle was "brilliant," I'd be fixed for life. They kind of ran out of reasonable commentary and just turned on the over the top Cruise-On-A-Couch gushing spigot. All this "showing us her soul" shit after completing a tidy couple of jumps kind of triggers my gag reflex.

It's skating, fer crissake, not the Second Coming. npi

The SlopeStyle course was great and I believe the ski jumps were considered really good. but like you said, tough to "fake" a downhill course.
not sure what to say on the "big air" jump. I'm more of a ski guy and ski big air not in this olympics. hopefully next time.

Hard to explain.

Scrap metal seems to be a boon in MA. You donít see that down here.

For an area that seems to be lower than the national average theyíre generally sitting on hundreds if not thousands in the front yard.

Maybe itís their off the books retirement income?

If the rust doesnít get it first.

The dragons are afraid of the scrap metal, that's why folks leave it all around the homestead.

I only watch curling in the olympics, but I dont think I have seen anyone get 5 points in one round before. Nice of the US to do it in the final.

Ester Ledecka was covered at the end of 7 beginning of 8 on this thread but this new video gives a great view of it happening in real time along with Anna Vieth pulling an Arthur Blank by getting hugs and kisses and congrats for her win from everybody in sight while Ledecka is coming down the hill.

https://www.nbcolympics.com/news/7-m...ing-gold-medal

At about 1:25 the last real threat finishes behind her and she starts the victory celebration. This video also gives much more of Ledecka's reaction as opposed to the day of stuff which cut her off after about 10 seconds.
