Did anyone think to bring over some fresh hops to the hospital?
I'd think that'd do the trick for babs.

Also, very happy to read the good news - in the words of babs: tree men does.

Some better news this morning and we're all more hopeful that the big dude will recover and read this someday and know a couple of things. One of them is that he is obviously a popular guy on these pages and also that people from all over the country are pulling for him, praying for him and his family and want nothing but the best for all concerned.

I had a serious health scare a few years ago which turned out OK and when I was able to get back home from the hospital and check the planet I found a thread much like this for me and I was sincerely touched (read: tears) that so many people, most of whom I had never met, were concerned for my well-being. It was, in a word, beautiful to read and something I will never forget.

Here is hoping that Babalu gets a chance to do the very same thing in time. I believe that it will touch him and help him heal.

Crossing all crossable parts. Dusting off my prayers and hoping they are heard for more good news.

It's near impossible to follow a Hawg post written with seemingly such ease yet capturing a feeling so well. It amazes me that while we all "network" (for lack of a sentimental verb) and probably make up, at times, a small part of each others' lives (YMMV), how moved we all are when tragedy strikes or miracles, even of the small variety, occur to and for one another.

I'm appreciative that somehow, Jeff or someone close to him got word to frankw (an assumption on my part) to keep us here at Patriots Planet updated. I have continuously had my thoughts turn back to Jeff's situation and am constantly looking for an update. To read a positive one this morning is uplifiting. To read that a lot of us feel as I do about this is uplifting as well.

I've still never had the pleasure to meet Jeff, shake his egg-enveloping hand, allow him to educate me on all things beer and have more fun with him in person than we all do with him here on the board. I can't wait to.

Jeff will beat this.

A guy I've never met (yet) but have interacted with alot on this site had me thinking about him, and worrying about his health and his family since I read about it yesterday..it's amazing how people can bond for the lack of a better term, and I didn't even know his name until yesterday.

Amazing isn't it? For all the fight/squabbles/bullshit that happens here, the love and compassion when something bad happens to someone is so heartwarming. I've never met Jeff in person either but right now all I want is a big bear hug from him and in some weird way, I wouldn't feel like it was the first one he gave me.

I have sat with Jeff over some of his amazing beverages and I can tell you he is the same guy when you meet him. It is a strange world we live in when you can call someone you have met only a few times a friend.

This is really hitting home for wifiemo and I, the close proximity to us and our kids...and I never use repellent on myself.....I have Jeff, his wife and 2 Children in my prayers and wish for them the strength to fight, beat and completely recover from this.

Great to hear some good news. Can't wait to hear more of it and the eventual "I'm fine. Sitting at home having a sip of my latest brew" post from the man himself.

Keep kickin ass bab.

I was thinking of Shannon and Ben last night. They must be so scared :( They are so little.

And please....cover all the Mikiemos in a tarp if you have to.

Glad to come in this morning and see that there's a ray of positive news. Thanks, Frank.

As for Baba, I have told everyone I talk to about this. It's just so shocking and random. It rented space in my head all day...as others have said, even without "knowing" a person around here, some of us do feel as though we've known people for a long time.

And I will promise Jeff that when he comes back to us all healthy, I'll never ride through Middleboro blowing out the straight pipes on my bike again.

Jeff's a good friend of mine and I occasionally lurk around here during the Football season. I know how much he posts here. I figured by now, the head PP bean counter would be running around all panicked because the overall drop in post count was so huge without Jeff around. I'm pretty sure overall internet traffic is significantly down over the last few days. For fun, Google "babalu87" Almost 48,000 hits. Jeff gets around.

Honestly, I figured letting Jeff's internet world know about his situation would likely send a bunch of prayers, positive thoughts and good karma his way. And as far as I'm concerned, it can only help.

I met Jeff for the first time back in March, very nice guy that still owes me BEER according to this post http://www.patriotsplanet.com/BB/sho...2&postcount=12

Jeff we are all praying for you, get well so you can be with your family, drink the nectar that only you can brew, watch our Patriots kick ass all season long and post here where you have loving friends that care about one another.

We very much appreciate the updates. Babs is a very valued member of this crazy little place. I've had the pleasure of meeting him at a tailgate a couple of seasons ago (I had RG tagging along). And he's given me lots of advice in my own futile attempts to create a decent batch of beer.

He'll continue to get alot of positive energy coming from the Planet.
