NFL's reprise of the tuck rule reviewed by Barstool

https://www.barstoolsports.com/bosto...der-fans-again

MAYBE, perhaps SB LI, aside, the signature moment of the Patriots dynasty. I just love the tuck rule game and how crazy it makers Raider fans.

Excellent vid.

Cheers, BostonTim

The Raiders/fans will never ever accept it being a rule. The Pats are just lucky cheaters.

I was extremely disappointed in that production. All it did was give Woodson and Gruden a chance to vent. It turned into a Raiders Rantfest leaving one to think the tuck rule was bogus. Well, news to them, it was a legit rule and was used against the Pats in the JETE game earlier in the year.
Not once did I hear that or that the rule was actually called properly except by Pereira and there was no validation on his opinion. Instead I heard Jon Gruden say he looked over at our sideline and saw BB who thought it was a fumble. What? Gruden reading BB's mind? BS. BB said he knew the tuck rule would reverse it.
Gruden and Woodson can eat dirt. Lousy production imo which could have ended the debate but instead fueled it.

The Tuck Rule thing was a wall-to-wall whine-fest.

Hey, Tim Brown: It didn’t cost you a Super Bowl Championship, because you were losing to either the Steelers or Rams. So piss off.
Had your chance the next year, and you lost because your head coach was stupid.

This is the franchise still complaining about the Immaculate Reception, another correct ruling. The ball clearly bounced off Jack Tatum and not Fuqua.

Screw the Raiders. They’re the only team in the league that openly celebrated dirty hits and “if you ain’t cheatin’ you ain’t trying”, then always complained that someone else was screwing them and everything was so unfair. Classic projection.

I meant to add that Jon Gruden sent Kraft a note after the game which said "It was a fumble" signed Jon Gruden.

Maybe that's why Gruden has been out of coaching all these years

I love Raider tears over the Tuck Rule. If the refs had even been sharper, Woodson would have been called for hitting Tom Brady in the head on that play.

It does my Patriots heart good to see the tears, though. Karmic payback for 1976 and the phantom roughing-the-passer call flagged by ' s good buddy, Ben Dreith. Talk about cheating!

I'll always believe the Tuck Rule was a good rule, because I believe ANY rule that takes judgment away from these chimpanzees the NFL calls officials is a good thing. The tuck rule was black and white "Is the QB's arm moving forward? Yes or no."

The example I give is the force out rule. I don't trust these moron refs to be able to decide if a guy would have landed in bounds or not, so when they changed it to "he either lands in bounds or he doesn't" I was happy.

Don't disagree at all Chev. I may have mispoke in my praise. But 5 Superbowls down the road, all I could do was enjoy it highly, laughing all the way through the tears.

As an aside, a rarely talked about point was that it was Coleman who made the fumble call in the 1st place, and Coleman who, after further review... .

If it was somekind of conspiracy, he woulb hve ruled it an Incomplete from the get go.

Anyway, I'll always celebrate Tuck rule day.

Cheers

This, and its exactly why the rule was made. To take guess work away from officials. The only reason it was removed as a rule was the insane crying and success of the patriots. I watched that show and it showed about 10 times this happened and nobody ever said a word. Pats have it happen in their favor and everyone cries. Guys jumping line to block FG, oh what a great play, pats do it, oh we have to get rid of that.

If Belichick found the cure for cancer half the owners in the league would be like "You know, cancer isn't so bad."
