Poll: Three-quarters of Democrats believe America is a racist nation

Three out of every four registered Democratic voters believe America is a "racist nation," according to a new Just the News Daily Poll with Scott Rasmussen.

When asked, 72% of Democrats responded that they believe America is racist. That's compared to 21% of Republicans and 48% of Independents.

Overall, a plurality of voters – 48% – feel America is racist, while 41% do not. A remaining 10% were "unsure."

JTN Poll, Is America a racist nation?
Just the News Daily Poll

With Scott Rasmussen

The returns contrast somewhat starkly with an August Just the News daily poll that found eight out of 10 voters believed that the United States was "founded on the ideals of freedom and equality, though we have never fully lived up to those ideals."

Just 11% of respondents to that poll believed the U.S. was "founded as a racist society."

The survey of 1,200 Registered Voters was conducted by Rasmussen using a mixed mode approach from August 27-29, 2020.

That's a weird one question survey and one that I couldn't have answered because I very much believe that racism exists in the U.S., but I also don't believe that America is a racist nation.

However, I guess the point is how much the results have changed in such a short time span. I don't find that surprising because the democrats have been working overtime to tell us how evil and racist the country is.

A good example is Michelle Obama with her recent story about someone cutting in front of her. Now, that has happened to me on several occasions. Sometimes, it may have been that the person cutting didn't realize that I was in line. Other times, it may have been that the person was just an obnoxious jerk. For Michelle, the only reason was because she was black.

One of the greatest disappointments for me with the Obama White House was that I actually thought they would work to bring people of all colors closer together. They could have stressed how far we have came since the days when a slave could only dream about a black POTUS and FLOTUS while also working to bridge existing divides. Instead, they joined in on the "everything is racist" mantra.

While Joe Biden's "You ain't black" comment along with the treatment that black conservatives receive show me just how racist the democrat party can be, nothing will ever top Hillary's comment about all black people looking alike.

Pelosi trolled by pro-Trumpers with video from California district: 'Nancy Pelosi does not want you to see this'

Tents and drug-using homeless people fill the streets in the San Francisco congressional district run by Pelosi

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi “does not want you to see this,” the Students For Trump organization claims in a new video recorded Wednesday showing the streets of her San Francisco congressional district lined with tents sheltering people experiencing homelessness.

“This is Nancy Pelosi’s district,” Students For Trump tweeted Wednesday, sharing a video recorded for Turning Point USA’s “Benny on the Block” video episode series.

The cellphone video was shot from the inside of a car as it drives through San Francisco’s Tenderloin District. Homeless people, many of whom are Black, are camped out on the streets for blocks. Ironically, messages like “Black Lives Matter” and “George Floyd” are seen spray-painted on a federal office building, with “The Unites States of America” official letting crossed out.

Another sign in a business’s window urges people to: “Go Vote.”

“I filmed this this morning in San Francisco,” Turning Point USA’s Chief Creative Officer Benny Johnson writes over the video. “This is the heart of Nancy Pelosi’s district. This is how people live under Pelosi’s leadership. Nancy Pelosi has been in office 33 years. Heartbreaking.”

One man in the video appears to be seen injecting a needle into his arm while sitting on the sidewalk. The car moves down Leavenworth Street, where more tents are camped out. The video shows a pipe contraption connected to a fire hydrant set up by the city, “So homeless people can take ‘showers.’”

People are seen by the encampments on bicycles, often in front of local businesses like a pizza parlor and a food market, and one man uses the fire hydrant to wash his dog.

The video ends showing a still photo of Pelosi, wearing an African kente cloth scarf, while she knelt in silence for eight minutes and 46 seconds on the marble floor of Emancipation Hall in the U.S. Capitol in June. That duration was the amount of time Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin kneeled on the neck of George Floyd before he died.

Over the photo, Johnson wrote: “Shame.”

Pelosi, the top-ranking Democrat in Congress and second in the presidential line of succession, has represented California’s 12th congressional district since 2013. She was first elected to Congress in 1987.

The 12th district, which was last redrawn in 2011, is entirely within San Francisco.

The video, which had more than 860,000 views on Twitter by Thursday, mirrors a political ad for Maryland Republican congressional candidate Kimberly Klacik. A speaker at the Republican National Convention who has since been endorsed by President Trump, Klacik, who is Black, challenged in her viral campaign ad that the Democrats running Baltimore for decades don’t truly care about Black lives.

“Do you care about Black lives? The people that run Baltimore don’t. I can prove it. Walk with me. They don’t want you to see this,” she said, walking through Baltimore’s crumbling infrastructure.

Pelosi has come under fire in recent days after she was caught on surveillance video first reported by Fox News at a San Francisco hair salon without a mask over her mouth and nose for a blowout. At the time, hair salons were ordered shuttered in San Francisco under rules meant to combat the spread of coronavirus.

Pelosi has since accused the eSalon owner of setting her up and demanded an apology.
I am slow getting around to this.

I rank this Dems kneeling as the most stupid image in my not terribly brief lifetime.

How can you NOT burst out laughing hysterically? I mean it is historically hysterical.

Cheers

Let's say some cop is an asshole.

Pulls me over, acts like an asshole, and I drive away thinking, "that guy's an asshole."

Sme cop pulls over a black guy and acts like an asshole. The black guy might drive away thinking, "that guy's a racist."

Racism exists and will always exist, but I firmly believe there are more assholes than racists.

I don't think I am wrong in thinking Biden is a racist.
Trump? Not so much. Just an asshole. But for me, an asshole in a good way.

Republicans press Nadler to hold hearing about civil unrest in Democrat-run cities

Four House Judiciary Committee Republicans wrote a letter Tuesday demanding that Chairman Jerrold Nadler convene hearings about the violence and civil unrest that has occurred in various U.S. cities run by Democrats.

Reps. Jim Jordan of Ohio, Ken Buck of Colorado, Jim Sensenbrenner of Wisconsin and Mike Johnson of Louisiana also urged Rep. Nadler, a New York Democrat, to condemn leftist violence.

The Republicans called for Nadler to "publicly and forcefully denounce left-wing violent extremism and acknowledge that leftwing violence is neither ‘imaginary’ nor a ‘myth.’"

They also ask that he "Immediately convene a hearing of the Judiciary Committee to examine the civil unrest caused by left-wing violent extremists in Democrat-run cities.”

The four Republican lawmakers pointed to the cities of Seattle, Washington; Portland, Oregon; Minneapolis, Minnesota; Kenosha, Wisconsin; Washington D.C.; and New York City.

Nadler will not hold any hearings, his party is complicit in the rioting and looting so they have a lot to lose if they did hold them.

I cannot stress enough how badly the GOP needs to take back the house and hold the senate so they can dig into wtf the left is doing to this country.

Agree he wont.

But any fence sitter will ask themselves why.

His silence, or refuting, is damning.

Free college, guaranteed income: State, local officials steer coronavirus aid money toward liberal priorities

Congress is still expected to pass another coronavirus relief package

Evie Fordham1 hour ago
Rep. Swalwell: Here's what Democrats need to do for a deal on COVID-19 stimulusVideo
State and local governments are racing to spend millions in CARES Act funding before it reverts back to the federal government — and they're finding unexpected ways to use it, from "trunk-or-treating" in northeast Ohio to an experimental basic income program in St. Paul, Minn.

The CARES Act provides $139 billion in payments to states and local governments. Those payments have funded things like increased police budgets to offset coronavirus costs and rent and utility assistance for struggling residents.

STATES, SEEKING MORE CORONAVIRUS RELIEF FUNDS, HAVE HARDLY SPENT THE $139 BILLION APPROVED IN MARCH: REPORT

However, blue states and Democratic mayors are also using the money for their pet causes.

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer is spending millions on free college for more than 600,000 essential workers.

Honolulu Mayor Kirk Caldwell agreed to spend $629,000 to hire 15 community relations specialists.

Democratic St. Paul Mayor Melvin Carter recently announced a guaranteed income program for low-income families using $300,000 in CARES Act money but has received pushback from a fellow Democrat. Earlier in September, Rep. Betty McCollum, D-Minn., wrote a letter to Carter expressing concern that the spending fell outside of federal guidelines and could be subject to recoupment by the U.S. Treasury.

"Without explicit federal approval, is the City prepared to take on costly litigation should the Trump administration challenge the legality of the pilot program?" McCollum wrote, according to the Twin Cities Pioneer Press.

The U.S. Treasury was not aware of any communications from the St. Paul mayor's office on the topic.

Sen. Rick Scott, R-Fla., has been critical of waste in the CARES Act.

"Senator Scott supports using CARES Act funding for its intended purpose to help those struggling due to the coronavirus," Scott's office told Fox News in a statement. "He does not support using funded intended for the coronavirus to bail out the poorly-managed budgets and pension plans of liberal states."

Tax and federal budget policy analyst Adam Michel of the conservative Heritage Foundation predicted that irresponsible use of federal funds could lead to higher taxes for residents, citing the federal support that state budgets received following the Great Recession.

ST. PAUL USES CARES ACT MONEY FOR MAYOR'S GUARANTEED INCOME PROGRAM FOR STRUGGLING FAMILIES

"State and local bailouts create an incentive for state and local leaders to expand existing programs beyond sustainable levels, add new programs, and simultaneously underfund those programs in hopes of further federal support," Michel told Fox News. "After the Great Recession, 28 states built their budgets around the expectation that Congress would renew expired funding."

"When the federal money runs out, states have historically increased taxes; each dollar of federal grant money sent to states results in 40 cents of state and local tax increases," he continued.

Meanwhile, Congress is still expected to pass another coronavirus relief package. Just under 25% of the funds Congress allocated to state and local governments for coronavirus relief had been spent as of mid-September, even as Democrats push for more of such funding.

Fox News' Marisa Schultz contributed to this report.
