That's exactly how BB appears to view the 3 most important positions today, I agree.

Gil Brandt always said the 3 most impt positions to spend money on are QB, pass rusher and LT. That was probably right during his time with the Cowboys.

BB always valued QB most of all but he differed with Brandt on pass rusher - BB values a DE or LB who can set the edge over a rusher.

And instead of LT, BB always valued the LB position as 3rd most impt. prob due to his time spent with LT. In the last 15 or so years during this passing era, however, BB's LB has given way to CB. Remember how surprised we were at the amount of money he threw at Gilmore? He was right.

Some teams, the Falcons, are all in on WR over CB though. Look what's happened to them...

Different eras -->different positions are impt.
Brandt - QB, pass rusher, LT
BB ---- QB, EDGE, CB (but was LB 15 yrs ago)

I know there will be three rooks, but better that than the rookies being taught by Lacosse and Rizo.
Really?

Find me one post where I say I don’t like a dominant OLine. OPT is correct, a strong OLine dictates a gsme.

Last year was a mess. Primarily due to injury.

Starting projected LT down. Gs fixed on the fly with lackluster available guys. C down for the year post draft. Mason battling something(subpar) and Cannon with a string of troubles.

Couple that with the retirement of the best blocking TE in history from an Offense used to him AND the loss of an integral battering ram FB.

IF given the situation and knowledge pre draft I’m 100% confident Bill can find his Gs any given year in any given draft that would go on to be sufficient. Last year was emergency band aids in forced trade deals. Not ideal.

Easy. I wasn't attacking you and I didn't say you didn't like a good oline. Exactlly the opposite. That you very much want a good line, but last year we didn't have one. We are miscommunicating. I was referring to your comment that you believe BB caan always coach up adequate interior linemen, but you were one of those who thought last year's oline was substandard. If that is incorrect, if you were fine with last year's oline then I apologize. But I think I remember correctly.

I was okay with the Oline BB coached up last year. I thought you weren't.

First, I am easy. This is just discussion, not argument.

My point is if Bill has advance time, like he knows heís losing Thuney and he can utilize a draft or the entire FA period he can excel and find a guy that meets his criteria and he can coach him up.

Last year was entirely different. He was forced to comb the lower levels of trade available lineman. Youíre typically not getting the guy you desire the most there. Itís a borderline hostage situation, where the team youíre dealing with knows your injury situation, knows your need, and they can move one of their less desirable players for draft capital.

Last year was not a good Oline. Brady salvaged their numbers with quick movement of the ball. Pressures and sacks wouldíve been much higher if he was intent on stretching a play out waiting for something to happen. The run game was weak at best.

Yeah but the guy who did most of that coaching was Scar, not BB.

Scar was arguably the GOAT of OL coaches, so it remains to be seen if the new guys can do as well.
