OT: What bands have you seen?

The thread about playing in a band brought this to mind. I thought we had something like it... or perhaps we've just made reference in other threads to the bands we've seen.

I guess you need to preface your input by stating the rough time period. For example, for me the time period was 1983 to around 1995. I've seen some between then and now, but that was the high time for me. My genre was usually heavy metal.

Favorite has to be Iron Maiden, 1985 on the Powerslave tour. I also saw Kiss around that time, with Queensryche opening. Same era: Metallica opening for Ozzy Osbourne. I've seen Judas Priest a few times (great show). The B-list heavy metal bands I've seen too many to count, most of them slightly drunk and thus hard to remember: Dokken, Y&T, Cinderella, Ratt, Poison, Bon Jovi, et cetera. Aerosmith. David Lee Roth (but not Van Halen). I think I saw Robert Plant, too... or maybe that was David Coverdale and Whitesnake, LOL...

Small clubs: haven't been to many, but I saw Keel at some small club in Kenmore Square. Also saw Bruce Dickinson on his solo tour, and Helloween (awesome), both at The Channel. One of my first shows was Quiet Riot and Armored Saint at the Orpheum in Boston (where I also caught WASP and Great White, and--believe it or not--Iron Maiden on one of their tours... man, that was #@&*(#@ INSANE). I never did get to see a show at the Rathskeller, though, regrettably. (Edit: forgot to mention the infamous Motley Crue at the Manning Bowl in Lynn... They didn't make THAT mistake again, LOLOL...)

More mainstream: They Might Be Giants, Ringo Starr, Garth Brooks, and even Dave Brubeck, The King's Singers, and some other stuff. (I'm diverse.)

One of the best shows (which I mentioned last year) was this past winter when I caught Trans-Siberian Orchestra in Providence; they have a light, smoke/laser, and sound show to rival heavy metal at it's peak (not surprising, given TSO's roots).

As for "bands I wish I'd seen": I never did see the full Van Halen. Never saw ZZ Top. Never saw Boston, despite the fact that they'd play 9 shows in a row in this area. I think those are the biggies I can think of.

Random Shows:

Hey, for a young whippersnapper you've seen some good stuff, though.

I supposedly saw Dio. I don't remember it. I vaguely remember all over myself, as well as being cheered on in the men's room. Note: do NOT use orange soda from McDonald's as a screwdriver mixer when you can't find orange juice!

Why the next to Linkin Park and Limp Bizkit? They both have some good songs. Do they just suck live?

(Edit: I forgot about Disturbed, I saw them in Providence with Stone Sour... very good show!)

Hmm.... I've never seen 'em but I hear they blew chunks live (which is one of the reasons they faded into obscurity).

Yeah, seen them a few times, too. Awesome show. Neil Peart rocks, and Geddy "Ugliest Man In Canada" Lee is very talented. I think I remember him, like, playing bass guitar with one hand and keyboards in the other while singing (and also using his feet to cure cancer and feed all the little children...).
