Agree with this. QB if the one they like is there with their own pick. LT with the 49er pick if Solder is done. They could also move up for their guy. Plenty of ammo for flexibility.

The hand wringing over only getting a second round pick for the back up QB is peak Pats fan.

oh that makes it all better LOL - this was a heist

yep LT and QB are roughly equal in terms of value - my issue is if you trade then you should have gotten a fvckload more "ammo"

you will have trolling material for a long time over this trade - this opening salvo is a weak one

It's speculation on either side...it could have been a boat load though.

without trying you never know. BB steadfastly shut down all trade rumors and offers until he accepted a last second offer, and it has been reported Cleveland was offering more - if you trade an asset this valuable you need to create a market not trade it away without even trying.

Funny how hindsight isnít 20/20.
Last we saw of Jimmy G, he played a game and a half of solid football, then was hurt in a play that lost QBs bounce back from. Many here then condemned him as soft/fragile when he didnít come back for the Bills game .
He then had a mediocre preseason.

But nope, now everyone thinks that heís Godís gift to the NFL.

Hindsight.

A

You really think that another team was offering a ďboatloadĒ at the deadline and B.B. took the lesser deal. Really?

One can question the timing of the trade, whether more would have been dealt (not rumors, but firm offers) at another time. I get that, but as stated, itís all speculation. And that heís started great in SF means nothing about what other teams were offering.

But if you think, as I do, that franchising was the worst option (unless you wanted to cut bait on the MVP soon), the had to deal him at some point or take a pick in the 90s.

In the offseason?...

BB was hedging his bet, and he basically painted himself in a corner for doing that. He wasn't sure that Brady could keep playing at an elite level for his age. This is the reason why BB kept JimmyG as long as he did.

At the 11th hour, he did what he did.

I hated the Jimmy trade but at some point we have to get over it. Bortles having 3 picks sealed the Jags fate today more than Jimmy which is why I don't fear the Pats playing them.
