Clever idea, Tommy. Reps ++

Cyrus Jones gave up 2 big plays that were obvious but he was responsible for a lot more bad plays, directly and indirectly. Perspective - He is directly responsible for 17 of the Jaguars points. SMH. If he makes this team it will be as a safety bc he can't play CB and he can't be trusted in the return game. He's another example of an Alabama player whose NFL career derails.

Yes, Jordan Richards was CJones' prime accomplice in derailing the Patriots on Westbrook's long TD so a safety spot will be open for Jones. Did CJones plan it perfectly or what?! BB will see through that shit faster than we did and put both of them on the midnight train to GA.

Fleming is a multiple part question though. He did well enough last year to stick and the newbies aren't close to being ready. With Solder's fragility it's either Waddle + Fleming or some OT dragged out of the trash can after cut downs. You can bet Caserio is scouring game films for the future garbage less putrid than Fleming.

Augusta's ticket has been purchased; they just haven't given it to him yet. I'm no Hawg-level scout but even I could see that 50% of his problem is really bad technique. I mean, damn, he stands up as soon as the ball is snapped. Dude! Another 25% is that it looked like he didn't care enough to even try. Forget the weight problem, this guy needs to start over in HS.

There were some positives

JimmyG - 125.7 QBR throwing to nobodies. Not bad at all.

Austin Carr - who says he can't get separation? I was dumbfounded when I read that report from a Patriot writer.

My perspective.
This is a guy the Pats have to keep whether it's IR or on the 53. He had all kinds of accolades as a college player. I've spoken about him before so I won't bore you again with a scouting report but this kid can play ball. He's way better now than Aaron Dobson was after 3 years of coaching.

He was a walk on at Northwestern who earned his way. He burst on the scene in 2016 so he was an unknown from a draft perspective to most NFL teams. But in 2016 he was:
  • 2x Academic All-Big Ten
  • Northwestern Captain (2016)[1]
  • First Team All-Big Ten (2016)
  • 2016 Second All-American Team (USA Today, Sports Illustrated)[2]
  • 2016 Bulsworth Trophy Finalist
  • 2016 Biletnikoff Award Finalist
He was also PFF's top rated college WR last year.

TE Hollister. Excellent performance from a guy who looks a lot like Aperp but has better hands. He stands a good chance of beating out Lengel and O'Shaughnessy for the 3rd TE spot if he continues to perform & if the Pats decide they don't need another blocking TE.

Took that sucky ass train both ways ONCE while overweight. Nearly killed myself making it.

Never again.

Don't you think Krafty should put them on one of his jets and send them out in style?

Cheers

I don't believe Jones is going anywhere given he is a second round pick but man, does he look lost on the field. I was at least hoping for some big kick-off returns and he was not good doing that either.

It was nice of him to follow up that 97 yard TD he gave up by getting tackled at the 10 yard line the next play.

But, he didn't fumble and he will NEVER be on the outside as a CB again. He's a slot corner with return ability. He gets 1 more game in my book.

THEN he's dead to me.

The moment just seems to eat him.

Not one I'd have the slightest semblance of confidence in in a tight playoff game.
