Brady let it be known to Kraft that he felt threatened and that he was concerned it was him who would be traded. Brady also told Kraft and BB he planned to play another 4-5 years. Kraft then told BB he didn't want to pay JG 25M to sit on the bench. JG wouldn't sign a reasonable contract. BB held on to him as long as possible. JG ultimately forced BB to trade him with encouragement from Brady through Kraft.

So JG forced BB to trade him? That's a bit different than Brady forced the trade isn't it? Also now all of the sudden ESPN is pulling that part of the story that Brady forced the trade...

I didn't say Brady tried to force a JG trade. I said he encouraged one by letting Kraft know he felt threatened and by letting Kraft and BB know he intended to continue playing and hoped to play for the Patriots.

I've got to believe he of all people could get a job with any New England news outlet he wants... Hell he could START HIS OWN and be successful.

Jesus, dude. Read my original post. For the 3rd time, I didn't say TB forced or tried to force the JG trade.

How is Brady trying to find out if he is being traded encouraging a trade? Bill makes the decisions, if he wanted Brady gone, Brady would be gone, or Bill would not be here.

When you say encourage a trade, you make it sound like Brady went in and said, hey its a good idea if we trade JG. lol. If he had concerns about him being traded, its perfectly logical that he would try and find out. If BB was going to do that, he would have I would imagine. I have yet to hear any of the 3 say what or why it happened, so its pretty far fetched that anyone really knows.

No, Midgar, he’s saying that by saying that he wanted to stay, Brady’s ACTION is what encouraged the trade.

I already told you how he encouraged the JG trade. One more time for old time's sake though.

He encouraged the trade by letting Kraft know he felt threatened by JG, that he was concerned he would be traded and by letting Kraft and BB know he intended to continue playing and hoped to play for the Patriots.

Kindly read what I wrote without putting words in my mouth or reading between the lines. Brady wanted to stay and his actions supported him staying and JG being traded. Simple, eh?

I didn't get that from your post, especially since when combined with ESPN saying that Brady told the Patriots to trade JG then retracted the story. Bruce Allen just flat out said that ESPN was told that this did not happen and ESPN pulled the story. You can read his report on it on twitter. Media likes to spin things. A QB saying hey I think I can play into my 40's means you either think he can, or you cut him and go with the other guy. So when ESPN reported...and they did, that Brady forced the trade, and then retracted it, it seemed a bit fishy. So in the end, I took your wording wrong, from what you intended. As far as Brady being threatened by JG...not sure that can be backed up with anything other than opinion.

The article claims that the rift is so severe many Patriots feel this is the last year together for the trio. Also that Brady went to Kraft to force Belichick to trade Jimmy G. ESPN is planning a full day of promotion tomorrow for the article and its author @SethWickersham

Here is the follow up...

Then this..

As I said, its playoff time, and they couldn't pin anything on the Patriots yet, so this is the shit we get from ESPN. Not, the success of the team, not another 12+ winning season, not another chance to win the superbowl, but this garbage.

This whole "Brady engineered the Garoppolo trade" thing has been a "story" for months.
