Indianapolis has narrowed its search to two candidates: Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels and Texans defensive coordinator Mike Vrabel. The plan is to gather intel this weekend, meet, then proceed Monday with either second interviews or simply by making a choice. McDaniels figures to be the front-runner, in part because if it was Vrabel the Colts would have made a move already. Based on the relationship between general manager Chris Ballard and McDaniels, as well as McDaniels' prowess with the quarterback position, McDaniels has long been in the lead. The only issue is the Colts might have to wait until February to hire him.

Good for the Colts. That would be an excellent hire for them. If Luck is out for part of the season, McDaniels has experience with Brissett and can get even more out of him than Pagano, that is for sure. McD can also help them pick the next QB this year if they feel Luck won't come back long term.

I think McD will do better the second time around. He has learned a lot since the first go round. He probably lost some of the ego...grew as a person. Etc.

Good chance the Patriots lose both coordinators to HC jobs, but LB coach Brian Flores is very much in play in Arizona, per league sources, meaning New England could potentially lose three assistants to HC jobs.

The Houston Texans locked up two key pieces of its leadership Saturday, announcing an extension for head coach Bill O'Brien along with the hiring of Brian Gaine as general manager.
The contracts will reportedly run through the 2022 season, according to John McClain of The Houston Chronicle.
It was previously reported that O'Brien was negotiating a long-term deal with the team, and it seems both sides only needed a matter of days to get something done.
Earlier reports also indicated Gaine would be brought in to fill the GM role after Rick Smith took a leave of absence to support his wife in her battle with breast cancer.
In four years with the Texans, O'Brien has led the team to the playoffs twice and with a 31-33 overall record.

If I'm Robinson, I still fire Kevin Costner...he isn't going to win jack shit. If anything, he got lucky.

He SHOULD hire McD.

The Titans do have some talent, but, Costner is holding them back.

Bills hire Brian Daboll Bama OC to be their OC.

I’m surprised with Josh rumors there wasn’t interest here.

Chris Ballard & the Colts better start looking at plan B because I would bet that Josh heads to the Titans. I think it's a close to a sure thing as there is.
