The same thing it would take for me to believe anything: Evidence.

I'm Agnostic. I don't know whether there is a God or not, and I think people who are hard core Atheists; who say they know for a fact there isn't a God are just as ignorant as people who say they know for a fact there is one. Barring God revealing himself to humanity and proving his power no one actually "knows" if there is a God, at best they "believe" there is one. You can't know something without evidence, but then again there's no definitive evidence there isn't one either.

What I believe is that something created all of this, but what it is I have no clue, and neither does anyone else.

Im more inclined to agree with this philosophy.

Until the last line.

In order for something to exist it needs somewhere to exist, no?

The universe version of chicken or the egg?

Already addressed above.

I've heard some say that we would have expected to stumble on examples like these by now, whereas god is a different type of entity.... but this definitional untestability only makes the god claim weaker, not stronger.

I'm still waiting for someone to provide another example of something in the "untestable extraordinary empirical claim" box (think The Matrix, brains in a vat, everything was created last Tuesday with all memories and physical status intact, god, etc.) that people are being "ignorant" by rejecting.

Not that it has much to do with this thread's original purpose and not that it will be relevant for a lot of people, but I was able to get to Denmark for work (and the Copenhagen Jazz Festival) and was able to stop by the Roskilde (of Roskilde Festival fame) Viking Museum. It is very very cool so if you're ever in Scandinavia, I would recommend it.

Absolutely fantastic!

Do you happen to know or remember if that is where the Mastermyr Tools and chest are kept?

Unfortunately, that is one of my all time favorite archaeological discoveries, but there is precious little information about it, and very few sources...especially English ones to get information.

Not that its going to make much difference or will be relevant to alot of people here but here is a website that explores my spiritual views. I realize I was born into them, so I keep that in mind.
www.ancientfaith.com
Explore it if you want.

For those that are Christian. Just finished listening to this one, think the series will help me and maybe you understand each other better.

I think the Mastermyr is on display in the Swedish History Museum in Stockholm -- Denmark's National Museum (went there too since I was there anyway) also has quite a large display of Viking era artifacts.

Amongst other things they have this insanely well-preserved grave (google The Egtved Girl):

Thanks. I will for sure check out the second one. I come across some great stuff from time to time that I will send your way via messenger. I help lead a women's Bible study and there is one member who is always researching things related to faith and the secular world. I will be sure to send to you. She is a brilliant person. Worked in nursing delivering babies in the NICU.

You want well preserved. Visit Greece.
St Spyridon of Corfu, St Dyonisius of Zankynthos, and St Nektarios of Aegina are 3 I have.
