Keeping Players in Suspense

Looks like the NFL is doing another over-correction/reaction and now suspending everyone for looking cross-eyed at one another.

Good grief, let the boys play football.

Side note: The NFL is thriving off of fantasy football. Suspending Gronk, JuJu Smith, etc around FFL playoff time is probably not a great business move. I personally could care less about FFL, but with ratings down, etc. probably not the best business move.

I though the hit was a thing of beauty and perfectly legal. Maybe a touch of helmet to helmet but certainly wasn't targeting the head. The taunting deserved a penalty and fine at most.

This reminds me of all of the sexual harassment stuff coming out in a tidal wave.

What? He certainly did slam the crown of his helmet into the side of the head of a player who wasn't looking. Anyway, where in the rules does it say a blindside helmet to helmet hit is legal as long as the player who slammed the at him didn't target the area he hit. Does that apply to PI also? "I didn't target the receiver's arms when I held them tight against his body. It was a happenstance."

I hate the league office, but they gotta stop this shit. I like to watch football, not players being strapped immobile to a board. Back in the fifties and early sixties. I used to watch the Friday Night Fights. Boxing was big back then and I boxed in the Silver Gloves in New Bedford. You don't see junior high and high school boxing much any more, or even weekly boxing matches on TV, and you won't be seeing American football either if they don't do something. Times have changed, in boxing and football. If Darryl Stingley happened today, the NFL would never be the same.

Allowing these hits is a worse business move, though that should be the prime consideration IMO.
