I was there and had a wonderful view of that play. Props to Urlacher on his candor about it.

I remember Urlacher was on the Mike and Mike show shortly after we completely fooled Baltimore with the eligible / ineligible thing and they asked him about it....

His response.. "That's good football".


My other memory from that is them asking former Dallas coach Jimmy Johnson about it on the Fox pregame...

His response.. I ran that play at Picuyune High School when i was coaching there.

Jimmy Johnson was one of the first guys to say that Spygate was complete bullshit and never wavered while the rest of football were shedding tears about the death of integrity while clutching their pearls.

I'll always respect that guy for not only taking a wildly unpopular view, but for laughing in the faces of those that were worked up over it.

Now Zo on the pre and post game shows? Sign me up. But not as the color man. Unfortunately I don't own the team so he'll be there for decades.

Gil and Geno were the absolute best. Nobody ever had Gil's pipes - the best in the business. Socci seems like a nice guy, but really what a wimpy voice. Gil would set the line up before most plays within 2-3 seconds - - he said so much so efficiently. Zolak? I like pre and post games - - but for godsake keep him out of the booth.

I used to turn down the tv to listen to the radio broadcast during Pats games. No more......except when Fouts is doing the color.

Gil's voice WAS the Pats. Gino complemented him perfectly and both guys always knew their stuff. Complete professionals with excellent chemistry between them.

BB is good pals with Jimmy Johnson it seems. The "A Football Life" episode on Jimmy had BB on it visiting him in Florida and going out in Jimmy's boat. Very interesting was when Jimmy was talking about Charles Haley and smart players, BB told him clearly, "That was one thing you taught me well" never take a dumb player, find the smart one.

I always feel guys like Jimmy who were hugely successful don't feel threatened by BB, they relate to him. Same with payers like Michael Irvin or Deion Sanders, HOF players, great careers, recognise a great coach like BB and Deion always says if he could play all over again he's give anything to play for BB. Irvin recognises some of Jimmy in BB, the relentless pushing of his players and the work ethic putting his players in the best position each week to win games.

Now, when you get a nasty POS like Don Shula, that's another matter.
