Oh, and to own in Madden, if you arrange your depth chart to mirror the Pats WR depth chart, try these 2 plays to beat the blitz. Run them to the wide side. The one on the left I think is out of 5WR Shotgun. Put Moss in the slot on formation subs and throw right before you get hit. TD. The second I think is in singleback spread and I have Gaff as the inside receiver. Same thing. TD city.

These are my 2 most called audibles. Read blitz and it's over. Opponent playing zone to prevent it? It's all Maroney all day up the gut. Or quick hitches.

The Pats in Madden should be illegal.
I have a hard time reading the defense in Madden. I can't read blitz very well. I mainly just watch the safeties to see if I've got a deep match-up advantage with Moss or Stallworth and then audible to a 9-route if that's the case.

(look at me using real wordage!)

I guess I really should learn to read blitz better in Madden or I'm going to get virtual Brady killed!

I'll try out your audible package, though I'm still adjusting to the 360 version of '08 after being used to '07 on the original Xbox for so long.

I often have success with the combination of two WRs to one side, the outside WR running a post and the inside WR running a shallow square out (I think).

That was the best diagram in the entire thread.

Im jealous, could you see the star talent in him at an early age man??
Yes. I've never been around someone who is such a natural leader before. He was just amazing. I was absolutely sold that he'd be an NFL starter and pretty good. Never did I think he'd be the greatest ever, but I was pretty pissed when he lasted until 199 in the draft (but stoked that he went to the Pats. I finally had an in!)

I went to his first pre-season game as a rookie in Detroit, when he led a comeback win. I was telling people, that's just what he does! After the game he introduced us to Bledsoe, Ty Law and BB.

The best thing about Tommy is that he's the same guy now as he was back then. He dresses a little better and hits finer tail, but he's still the same guy.

Hot routes are your friend. If they are in nickel or dime, 90% of their blitzes are from the DB off the backside. Hot route to a quick slant or short comeback and it's straight cash. You'll have room to run. Or, keep a WR screen as an audible and violate them anally with an 80 yard untouched run by a WR off a screen. Manually send a man in motion and see what they do to adjust. The CPU always tells if it's man by having the DB follow him across the screen. They don't mask it.

I can't figure out how to send a specific player in motion in '08. I could in '07, but haven't found the command yet in the new game.

There are certain plays in '08 that have motion built into them, but beyond that nobody has moved yet for me. lol

I've never played much Madden. Can you figure out how the protections work from play to play so you know who is the free rusher and who will be hot?

Maybe some can. I just get sacked.

I know in '07 you could do 'slide protection', but I didn't know what it was or how it worked.

If they had a section that explaned the available protections and how they work, , you could figure out who to throw hot off of pretty easy.

To really get into that sort of thing, you would have to read the Safeties pre-snap and the MOF like a real QB. Could be fun though.

I have learned to read safeties. So far that's how I decide where to throw regardless of the blitz, etc.

Of course I play on the second easiest mode, so I'm sure that if I turned the difficulty up I'd get into trouble and throw mad INTs.

What is a MOF?

Does that have to do with the Mike LB? (as if I know what that means exactly anyway)

On occassion. He was here last June (or was it July?) for a UM function and we chilled at BW3 for a while. I text and email him pretty frequently and will holler before a game whenever I go. I tend not to bother him during the season, there's enough going on and I sometimes let the fan in me want to talk too much Pats. During the off-season if he's back in Ann Arbor or if I head out east or west (depending on where he's at) we'll hang out. That's about the extent of it. Not a bff or anything. ;)
