Time Magazines Man of the year in 1938 was 'Ol Adolf and 1939 AND 1942 was Uncle Joe Stalin. Now those 2 guys obviously did not affect how we viewed our National Anthem as much as Kaep...oh, wait a minute...never mind, nothing to see here..

Agreed. What he did in such a short period of time was Herculean.

Another person who gets very little recognition for his major accomplishments and contributions to humanity is Chris Long. His ongoing water project has funded somewhere around 29 wells not only here but worldwide, brought and continues to bring water on a daily basis to places like Flint, and he is a true humanitarian.

true, I just wish he expressed them to us.

In no way do I think Kaepernick should get citizen of the year and this is obviously a publicity stunt.

But if we are comparing his charitableness to Watt, then Kaepernick wins. He donated something like 1 million of his salary to charity, while Watt who makes a lot more donated 100k to the hurricane relief. He raised a ton of money (other people's money) for the efforts which is great, but I wouldn't pick Watt over Kaepernick.

And, again, Chris Long donated his entire 16 paychecks and is playing for zero money this year to charity.

Long, Watt and Kaepernick all deserve a lot of credit for their charitable work and donations.

Can someone list out the great achievements of Keap, I refuse to click on link as I agree with UT59, it is all about their clicks at this point.

I see he has donated money but what else has he done, I mean they all donate money, they all need that tax break.

Deshaun Watson gave game checks to ladies in the cafeteria at the stadium that lost homes in the flood. Not award worthy but still an awesome kid to do that. And he followed up with a million bucks to Habitat to furnish 176 homes for flood victims.

I think I read some place that he was on the receiving end of a Warrick Dunn home and is a very humble guy. I could be wrong and am too lazy to look it up, it is all memory.

He may get fired and force Jones to sell the Cowboys. For that, he deserves as many covers as possible. lol.

time Man of the year isn't necessarily a positive recognition, merely highlights someone's effect on world affairs for better or worse which were the exact words of Henry Luce WRT Hitler.
