I tried watching the reboot of "Lost in Space" on Netflix. The show obviously had a budget from Netflix, some of the visuals are pretty good, but I made it about 4 episodes in before giving up. They obviously tried to make it a family show, but the writing is not great, nor is the "science" part of the science fiction.

I was hoping for a far darker show.

I was never a fan of the original though, so others may like it.

So started watching "Ozark" on Netflix, this seems to have a Breaking Bad type of promise.

Cheers
I often disagree with you about politics and then really agree on other stuff. For me, the Wire isn't just the most bingeable, but also maybe the most meaningful, entertaining, touching depiction of how $hit really happens that's ever been on television.

At first, I found the series hard to get into because I'd tune into an episode midseason and not appreciate all the back story behind what was happening. But, then I caught the first episode of Season 4 (which opens with Snoop buying the power nail driver from the guy at Home Depot, and follows the kids through a year in their dysfunctional school) and I was hooked and binged the rest of the seasons on Netflix. I've watched the series from beginning to end 3 times now.

I watched Ozark and enjoyed it. I think season 2 is scheduled to release in fall 2018

I'm always on the lookout for something that my wife and I can watch together as we have very different tastes with me favoring darker, intense stuff and she tends to like westerns or comedies.

So, I flipped on Netflix' "The Ranch" last week and we are tearing through it.

It's a bit strange to hear a laugh track on a Netflix series, but I find it to be funny and entertaining. It pairs Sam Elliot with Ashton Kutcher and Danny Masterson (of That 70's show) as his sons, along with the face-meltingly beautiful Elisha Kuthrow. And tons of good actors and actresses in cameo roles.

Tons of drinking, bar humor and insults, but the show seems to have a little bit of heart and intelligence to go along with the raunchy stuff.

I think my wife likes it even better than I do. 4 seasons worth of half-hour episodes.

I haven't seen mention of it anywhere here, but 'The Terror' is definitely another show worth watching. The cast is great, the writing is outstanding, and the cinematography is atmospheric and awe-inspiring. Based on the book by Dan Simmons, it tells the story of the Franklin Expedition's attempt to find the Northwest Passage in 1845.

The sixth episode aired last night, so it won't take too long to get up to speed. Airs Monday nights at 9PM on AMC.

I had mentioned it briefly after reading the book and seeing the excellent premiere, so I was glad to see you brought it up, but I never set the DVR to record the whole series and the last time I checked they wanted money to watch parts 2 & 3 On Demand, so I'll wait and binge it at some point when they drop the unnecessary extortion for something I'm already paying for.

Historical Arctic adventure stuff, combined with survival and horror? Right down my alley.

If I was pitching this series I'd say it's Master and Commander meets The Thing.

There are a few different ways to access On Demand shows; if you choose from the 'by network' category, shows you already subscribe to are free.
