Need a New Gas Grill

So my piece of crap Brinkman grill died yesterday (thank the good Lord) and I am in the market for a new one.

Our Weber Genesis that we had since 2001 had died in 2012 so my wife put her foot down and we went cheap with the Brinkman. We are now looking to spend upwards of $1,000.

I ended up using my firepit yesterday with a rack, some charcoal briquets and a make shift grill on top. Food was excellent. I want to buy a charcoal grill now but my wife wants to have the convenience of cooking on the grill if I'm not there (not sure why I wouldn't be there )

Anyway, I'm reaching out to the Planet for suggestions.

Thanks in advance.

Those Traeger units are pretty cool, they burn wood pellets. You can get a nice one for less than a grand. Pretty much set it and forget it. I like to tend my fire when I'm cooking though

After years of tossing POS grills after a few years of use, I've spent the money on a Weber unit, and glad I did. They are the best out there, they don't rot and rust out, and parts are easy to get should they be needed.
Even a used one is a better choice than the crap they sell at Lowes, Home Depot, etc.

Here are a couple of websites for you

https://amazingribs.com/pitmaster-aw...est-gas-grills

https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_st_r...rt=review-rank

I bought a Napoleon with the infrared side searing unit a year ago and love it. (link below) I regularly cook for 6-10 people & its more than I need. The Rogue may be all you need. Napoleons are known for good quality and durability but they are pricey bc of the high quality stainless steel used. They will not rust as most others will, especially the Monument grills. I also recommend getting the expert assembly unless you have oodles of time to kill.

https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_in_-...nid=2528832011

If you go with a charcoal AND a gas grill, my Weber kettle is 10 yrs old and still looks good. I replace the grill grate every other year.

I just bought a Weber Genesis II, 3 burner, all stainless steel.

I always cheaped out and found that I needed to replace major parts every 2-3 years which really ended up resulting in getting another new cheap grill. I finally decided to invest in a quality grill after checking with a neighbor who has had his Weber for 5 years without any issue.

I used my Home Depot credit card and a special offer to get it with 18 months interest free, basically about about $50/month.

I've only had it for 3 weeks and already love the way it cooks.

I bought a Char-Broil infrared and hated it. It was not a cheapie either.

Now some seem to like the infrared and maybe I just got a lemon. But I'm back using charcoals.

I have the Char broil commercial tru infrared unit from lowes and I've had it for 3 years without any problems. I love it. I had a huge grill that I bought from Sams club and had to replace the burners every year.Cast iron doesn't hold up in the humidity of a Florida summer very well. Since buying this grill all I've ever done is use it and clean it. I also have a vertical smoker for the low and slow stuff

I totally agree.

You can't cheap out on a grill. Two years later you'll be replacing the burners, and then the grates, and you will hate it. Hate it.

I finally got a decent Weber gas grill and it still works and lights perfectly every time 3 years later.

I will never go back to Char-broil and the ilk.

That's what I have. It takes forever to cook food. But maybe I just got a lemon.

I bought Weber Q 2200 Titanium 12000-BTU 280-sq in Portable Gas Grill a few years ago for camping and it is still great.

At home I have one My buddy picked up from a client, a used Webber red grill 3 burner ($450 new)and we replaced all the guts and it is amazing. The best part of Webber’s is they can be rebuilt.

I have two smokers too but am thinking of getting a pellet smoker to replace them.

Mine will legit get to 900 degrees... I was cleaning it one time so to do it I crank the gas and let it run for 15 minutes and then brush it off afterwards. I forgot and then remembered like 3 hours later. That bitch was glowing red. Anything that was stuck to the grates was reduced to ash.
