Don't remember that - but I listened to WMEX and WRKO more than WBZ, back in those days.

I had a hand-held transistor radio with about 5 transistors. It ran on a 9-volt battery, and had a speaker with about 3 dB of dynamic range.

But it was good for listening bubble-gum music, and then, sometimes late at night, to Larry Glick and Streeter Stuart.

It probably looked something like this:

I remember WBZ well - Carl DeSuze in the morning, Dave Maynard, Jay Dunn, Jefferson Kaye in the afternoon, Bruce Bradley in the evening. The were always ahead of New York when it came to playing new music first- I loved that. It was Jefferson Kaye that played the first Beatles song I ever heard- "I Want to Hold Your Hand", during the Christmas break week in 1963. And honest on this - I do remember thinking, "Damn, that's very different and very good, it'll be #1 soon". One time in my life I got something right. :-)

Glicknick here.

We listen to Glick all the time, even had a Glick University t-shirt - no idea how it was won, I may have been 12 at the time.

If you really think that believers do not question their faith, you are sadly mistaken.

Obviously this is true, as many atheists are those that give up the practice of religion.

But there's also a large contingent of vocal theists who prefer the ten commandants to the Bill of Rights. They want their particular set of religious beliefs to be used to control the personal decisions of people who have different ideas about how to live their own private lives.

Naturally, this leads to the occasional spirited exchange of viewpoints.

We had one growing up and it got destroyed most likely in a brothers wrestling match. A few years later My brother bought a house and it was in the basement. I took it and it stayed in my campers thru the years. Perfect campfire radio, not to loud but had a 6’ antenna that picked up everything.

I miss that thing. Listened to many a Sox games on it.

no shit, that is why it is called faith

faith

noun: faith

1. complete trust or confidence in someone or something.
"this restores one's faith in politicians"

2. strong belief in God or in the doctrines of a religion, based on spiritual apprehension rather than proof.

What harm does their faith bring to you?

you choose not to so why is in nonsensical?

why mock them by calling Faith nonsensical?

If millennials started claiming Harry Potter was a documentary and not a work of fiction, we'd have no problem mocking them for having faith in something nonsensical. Because it is nonsense to believe the story of Harry Potter is historical.

If one day I vehemently argued the reason tides exist is because mighty Thor was tricked by an ice giant into drinking the sea level down through an enchanted ale horn you'd lock me up in a padded cell.

The reason faith is mocked is because under any other context the story people have faith in would never even be considered possible. If tomorrow I posted about my awesome friend who came back from the dead, turned water into wine, and healed cripples with his touch you'd think I'd have gone mad. Yet millions of people believe exactly that because of "faith."
