Not sure where to put this, but....

If Georgia loses, the coaches will have no one to blame but themselves. They pulled the plug on offense much too early.

Newton has a career completion percentage of 58. Tebow had 56.

This past year, he was above the following non-rookie starting QBs in passer rating:

Eli Manning
Joe Flacco
Marcus Mariota
Trevor Siemian

That's it. He was worse than 23 other QBs, including Jay Cutler, Jacoby Brissett, the now retired Carson Palmer, and so on. His only season above 90 Passer Rating was 2015, and even that season he was 7th in Passer Rating, 16th in Yards, 27th in Completion Percentage, 12th in NY/A, and 16th in Int%.

The reason he Won was because with rushing, he had 45 TDs, and with the way Fantasy Football is scored, he was by far the highest point leader in there for QBs. Also the Panthers went 15-1. Just because he won MVP, he was not at all the best QB that season.

This year as well, he was a great Fantasy Football QB, 2nd overall in fact. However looking at this year and his career as a whole, I certainly think it's fair to say he's a below average QB as a passer, one of the bottom tier in the NFL. His ground game helps, and I certainly wouldn't say he "sucks" myself (all of these guys are monsters compared to QBs of years past), but just because he's statistically the equivalent of Dan Marino with legs, doesn't make him necessarily a good or even great QB in the modern era.

Cam Newton is taking the kind of pounding a power back like Earl Campbell took. His career will have that kind of arc.

Expect a major injury in the next couple of years and a completely ineffective player after.

I thought he broke his back when he got bundled the other day.

And do not try and tell us it was an eye issue. Immediately after the hit his hand flexes like heís electrocuted, he briefly loses control of the ball, corrals it again, and then canít get to the sideline.

Thatís NOT a poke in the eye.

He looked concussed to me.

But he's a star QB and he's not coming off the field in that situation as long as he knows which direction to line up in.

I think based on his style of play that it's entirely possible he's already peaked.

Dudes that play like him often have shorter careers and 'primes'.

They should lose a 1st round pick and Newton should be suspended for 4 games

Panthers admit Cam Newton embellished injury to buy time
Posted by Mike Florio on January 8, 2018, 7:45 PM EST

Thereís a strange subplot to the question of whether the Panthers failed to properly conduct a concussion evaluation after quarterback Cam Newton took a blow to the head and then stumbled to the ground while exiting the field in the fourth quarter of Sundayís loss to the Saints. According to Joseph Person of the Charlotte Observer, the Panthers now admit that Newton was embellishing whatever injury he had, in order to give backup Derek Anderson time to loosen up.

Itís a stunning admission, with the Panthers consciously picking the lesser of two evils. In lieu of admitting that Newton ended up on his knees because he was unable to finish his left-foot-right-foot path to the sideline, the Panthers are essentially admitting that they gamed the system, ordering Newton to pretend he was hurt more than he was so that Anderson could become more ready than he would have been.

Sorry, Panthers, but thatís the risk of operating under false pretenses. When you deliberately play make believe, thereís a chance someone will believe you. And if Newtonís manifestation of symptoms was to be believed, the recent adjustments to the concussion protocol mandated a locker-room concussion evaluation, not a quick and perfunctory ďhow many fingers?Ē exercise in the blue medical tent.

So that should be a lesson to all other teams: If youíre going to tell your starting quarterback to flop after getting banged up in order to give his backup a chance to not flop while playing, the price youíll pay is waiting for the starting quarterback to be cleared via a concussion evaluation performed in the locker room.

He stops about 15 feet from the sideline. What a prima donna. I know he needed to give Derek Anderson time to warm up but you know he wanted the cameras on him.

So, it's this to go along with getting caught on national TV warming up ball in front of a heater on the sideline.

If it were the Patriots heads would literally be exploding today.
