Chew on this sports fans.

Make a list of the top 5 (or even top 10) QBs in the league. Then put their ages next to their names.

The Bills-Jaguars game may just be the future of the NFL. God help us all.

One would imagine if nothing else, they would be motivated.

Bortles looked absolutely awful, missed open receivers all day. I don’t see any way they move on if he doesn’t somehow step it up.

I didn't think it was possible for me to lose MORE respect for Newton than I already had but man, what a drama king and a quitter.

I didn't see him quit; I saw him bring his team back actually and made it a great game. Had it not been for 2 dropped passes in the end zone, Carolina could have won that game. He did it with less weapons than Brady had in 2013.

He checked out in the first half. No emotion. Walked to the huddle like he had been shot in the leg. Even the announcers made mention of it. Then the topper - going down on one knee on third down literally 3 steps from the sideline because he got poked in his eye by his own helmet apparently.

He was either told to go down on the field or he was smart enough to do it. The injury TO gave the backup a chance to warm up a little.

Yes enough time to warm up and almost throw a pick. And I don't have an issue with him coming out if he was poked but to drop down on the field literally 3 steps from the sideline was very much Big Ben "warrior" like.

You have a chance to end the game? End the game.
I think it was the right call BUT if you are going to go for it on fourth why call a run play on third and 3? That part I did not get. And whatever play they called on fourth down was dumb as no receiver was open in the flat which forced Brees to go deep and was fortunate the DB caught it instead of just knocking it down.

The Panthers easily could have won yesterday...I don't understand why so many here were praising the Saints. That game wasn't a blowout. It came down to the wire.

Yeah, when he threw what should have been the game winning TD in the final minute, after driving the team downfield twice in the final 5 minutes, I don't see how you can say he quit.

The Saints played a terrible second half. Very similar to what KC did. They easily could have lost if Newton was not a petulant man child and his receivers did not have the dropsies.

3rd and 17 in the shadow of the goal posts is not a prime place to insert your backup. At least he had time to warm up. Considering where Newton took a knee, I would guess the coach told him in the helmet speaker to stay on the field of play. I get you don't like him, most don't, but the smart thing to do there was to remain on the field regardless where on the field that may have been. The team likely considered taking a TO to let him get back on the field, but probably figured it was likely going to be a punt anyway and saved the TO.

It didn't help that the backup did not practice much either because he had the flu. The fact that they had him throw a pass in that situation is mind boggling. It was almost picked.

In terms of Newton, I don't hate the guy. I have defended him up here at times as he can be a brilliant player and he for sure is a character off the field which is good for the game. But his play ON the field irks me at times. Not jumping on his own fumble in the SB, looking lethargic for stretches of the game yesterday because his receivers dropped some balls ... it is all annoying and not what a leader should do but obviously that is not him. It kind of is what it is but they had a real chance to win yesterday if he played the whole game the way he played the final 5 minutes.
