Poor Little Snowflakes

I searched a good bit, but could not find a thread appropriate for the following article. So here's a new thread to serve as a repository for how our culture is capitulating to all the poor little snowflakes.

Up today, don't use capital letters:

Quote:
University bosses order lecturers to stop using capital letters when setting assignments because it might upset snowflake students

-A memo sent out to Leeds Trinity staff said capitals could 'scare them into failure'
-It also included tips on how they should address students from now on
-This includes writing in a friendly tone and avoiding overbearing language

University bosses have banned lecturers from using capital letters when assigning work to their students out of fear it might upset them.

The memo sent out to staff at Leed's Trinity journalism department suggested that using uppercase letters may 'scare them into failure', reports the Express.

It also included some tips on how they should address their students from now on, such as writing in a friendly tone, steering clear of overbearing language and negative instructions.

Critics have slammed the idea because it suggests that the 'snowflake' generation are being overindulged throughout their education...

And this is why I smirk when someone claims more intellect because they went to school longer than I did. To this day I would rather converse with someone who actually does the job, rather than someone who learned about it in school.

It's the blueprint for the type of modern progressives in the American left is it not? If not, it's far too often held up as an example to aspire to.

It is, they want the USA to be more like Europe, you know, open borders, socialized medicine, higher taxes, etc, etc.

You're looking at a faction of liberals that don't represent the democrats. Very few people want open borders, and that's a term that the president has shoved down everyone's throat. And higher taxes? No, just for corporations and the wealthy to pay their fair share and not less than what the poorest and average Americans are paying, who have to work two jobs to make ends meet, if they can even do that.

Again, I know many MA liberals who want open boarders. This isn’t a small faction.

But what is a corporations fair shair? Have they not already created thousands and thousands of jobs? Fair share for what? Where do you want that money to go?

When asked the direct but general question "do you support open borders" you are correct in saying the majority (76% according to the June 2018 Harvard-Harris Poll) of Americans do not want open borders.

That same poll however found that 53% of Democrats are in favor when asked specifically “Do you think that people who make it across our border illegally should be allowed to stay in the country or sent home?”

So while the first question, an overarching and all encompassing one which could be taken several different ways makes it seem like an overwhelming majority are not in favor of "open borders" in a general sense, the second more specific question makes it apparent that Democrats indeed support it in relation to open immigration, which is the primary concern.

The second question needed to have a follow-up and doesn't legitimately recognize the issue. The follow-up should have been: Do you think that people who make it across our border illegally should be afforded a fair hearing to determine whether they should remain here?

Have they? Or is that simply a natural progression to the increase in jobs of the past years?

Over 1,000 large corporations have now eliminated several hundred thousand jobs.

Over 1,000 corporations who have received ridiculous tax breaks have not increased the wages of their workers.

A corporation's fair share is certainly as much as a taxpayer pays, and it's not. Where do I want it to go? I want it to go back to the workers, increased wages, bonuses, incentives. That's not happening, and it never was going to happen.
