I don't recall any instance of the Pats getting called within the last 2 min of a playoff game in that time span. If you do, please remind me.

I still submit that the last non-call is not the whole story. SF wasn't robbed of the game because of that one call (though it sure does help). And SF definitely called crap on those last 3 plays.

The problem is the calling throughout the game. We all know refs miss calls. They're human, it happens. But MOST of the time it evens out. They miss calls pretty evenly for both teams. It's when the calling is as one sided at this that the eyebrows get raised.

Defensive PI not called against Ravens on SF's first drive, would have set up first and goal I think. Nearly the exact same contact by SF against Baltimore IS called in 4th quarter keeping drive alive. Off sides called against SF, even worse off sides not called against Baltimore. Offensive PI not called against Baltimore. I never saw a big offensive PI by SF, so a little harder to judge that one. SF kicker gets bowled over to the point of near injury (he looked pretty shaken up on the sidelines), instead of roughing the kicker as it should have been only gets running into the kicker.

It's when the penalty calling is that far one sided that I consider the outcome influenced by refs. I tried to keep a running tally, and I think I came up with a differential of 5 critical calls, 3 of which would have had potential huge impact on SF drives.

OK that explains some of it. But the whole series of plays called was stupid. They should have spread the defense and went with the pass-run option.

All Kap had to do is make one guy miss or have one guy get sucked into the run and have an open receiver. As much as I wanted the Ravens to lose, the Niners choked with their play calling.

And I'm not a blame the play calling type of guy, but in this case it was.
