I think it is understood that she is going to try to outlast the Trump administration.

EDIT: In the Conspiratorium world, the original plan was to have a Clinton administration, RBG would retire, and Loretta Lynch would be nominated for her seat. That was the subject of the tarmac meeting.

I don't think being able to have a rapid back and forth banter is important for a SCOTUS judge.

If she's mentally fit and can reason and discuss with her fellow judges, the length of time that takes, within reason, is moot.

Obviously if she spoke like an Ent, that would be problematic, but IMHO "slow" is not an issue.

I would hope that the SCOTUS deliberations occur at a relatively leisurely pace.

Nowhere was my observation an indictment. It was a simple observation. Also, I went out of my way to to point out that I believe she "still formulated clear and cogent thoughts" and she "made sense." I am a bit of a defender of her. That said, I also want to point out her age and the effect the aging process is having on her especially given the fact that she is falling down these days and breaking ribs.

Supreme Court: Ginsburg discharged from hospital, 'doing well'

The Supreme Court announced Friday morning that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg had been discharged from the hospital after being treated for three fractured ribs.

Ginsburg, 85, fell in her office Wednesday night and went home, but after experiencing discomfort overnight she called Supreme Court police to take her to the hospital early Thursday morning for treatment and observation.

Supreme Court public information officer Kathy Arberg on Friday said Ginsburg is "doing well and plans to work from home today."

The Associated Press reported that Ginsburg has had health problems in the past. She broke two ribs in a fall in 2012, survived two bouts of cancer and had a stent implanted to open a blocked artery in 2014, according to the report.

The court's leading liberal was treated at George Washington University Hospital this week.

Ginsburg, who was appointed by Clinton in 1993, is the court’s oldest member. She is three years older than Justice Anthony Kennedy, who retired in July.

In 2016 President Trump called on Ginsburg to resign in a tweet after Ginsburg told The New York Times she doesn’t know what the world will be like with Donald Trump as president.

Trump said Ginsburg’s “mind is shot – resign!”

Ginsburg has said she is plans to serve another five years on the court.

Would she fake broken ribs as a promotional for the new Ginsberg Bio-pic, "On The Basis of Sex", just coming out?

Nah. She's a Justice at SCOTUS, She's no Pelosi or Waters.

Cheers
