Absolutely THE guy in the 90's. O.Z.O. Jr. was a huge Soundgarden fan from pretty much the time he knew what music was. It wasn't really her thing, but even Mrs. O.Z.O. had an appreciation for Cornell's amazing talent.

This is without question the most profound loss I have felt along the lines of losing an artist. I imagine this is how I'm going to feel when Jimmy Page and Mick Jagger die.
Doubt it.

Say what you will about them living long and hard, but they've had pretty full lives. Chris took his way too soon.

I was kind of kicking myself for not going to see them in KC last week but after seeing their recent live performances, I'm glad I didn't. I don't know what was going on with him but he was a shell of himself.

I often wonder that when musicians have great success and then their fame fades, how they cope with that reality. Grunge had a very short hay day which kind of makes the fall even that more drastic.

I stand by what I said with this. Soundgarden had every bit as big a place in my life as either Zeppelin or the Stones did.

No my point was the other 2 have defied odds and lived long and highly entertaining lives. It's more sour with Chris because it was cut much too short.

Tell ya, Jeff Goldblum could play a twin of Cornell in the pics I've seen of late.

Okay, I follow.

I envision Keith Richards sitting somewhere, crossing another name off of a list.

OZO I am not convinced that Jagger is ever going to die. My theory is that both he and Keith are vampires (have you ever seen them out and about in the daylight).

I guess you have to put Cornell in the "you never really know these guys" category. In interview and in public he never seemed tortured. Introspective for sure but not depressed/angry/suicidal. As tragic as it was I don't think ayone was shocked at Kurt Cobain's suicide. I just didn't see this one coming.

I literally looked for a Richards photo to emphasize my response. Guy has lived as hard as anyone, looks it, yet still keeps Rolling.

Don't know how many out here are into conspiracies but there are an awful lot of things that don't add up wrt Cobains suicide.

Just means how the genre hit him, not necessarily the duration.

Going to disagree with you on that. 30 years after their first EP was released people still listen to them. They were still selling out shows. Their music still stands up.
