I love tap rooms. We're finally getting some in this area (away from Boston). We just had a micro-brewery open up in Milford, 15 minutes from home. Been there twice this month. There's nothing like getting a good sampler and trying one of everything they have on tap.

And WHAT tequila did you puke up?

I'd give 5 to 1 odds that it is Cuervo or worse.

The problem with tequila is that it needs a lot of distilling to get rid of the impurities from the agave plant and that makes the good stuff expensive.

That good stuff is smooth, agreeable on the innards and doesn't have the rotgut horrible taste that the Budweiser of tequila leaves behind-- especially when you vomit. There is no comparison.

Still, telling somebody that after they've gotten violently ill on a product of the same category is basically a waste of time. It took me a while to try tequila again after my volcano impersonation and I'm glad I did.

Barrel House Z opened up in Weymouth and it is really good. They specialize in beer finished in liquor casks-- bourbon, rum and so forth and they have several varieties that are about double the average craft brew (10 pct. plus) in strength and yet taste great. I'm starting to see it on tap at other places as well.

If you see the red rye ale finished in a rum barrel then I'd recommend it.

These guys are really cooking up some unusual stuff. It's almost not beer.

I'm with Hawg on Tequila, I was never much of a fan until I tried Patron.

Think about it in whiskey parlance, Patron Silver is like a nice Scotch, think Glenlevit while Ceurvo is like Canadian Club. They are both whiskey, but they are not the same.

Sounds like a great place. One of the better ales I have lately is a Kentucky Bourbon Ale. It runs about 8.5%. It has the flavor of the bourbon without the harsh after bite. Pricey ($10/4 pack), but well worth it.

This is a favorite that I drink on a regular basis. Refreshing, thirst-quenching and calorie-free.

The most vile thing I ever tasted was a Bud Light Lime. I went to a Lacrosse Game at Harvard Stadium in 90+ degree heat and it was all they had. I took two sips and left it to warm in the sun. You could use that shit to torture ISIS captives.
The worse I ever had was "Billy Beer".

For those of you not of a certain age, President Carter's brother was named Billy and he was a good ol' boy.

Some marketing Norman Einstein thought it would be a good idea to make a beer with his name after he made some comment about drinking beer that made the news.

Well i was in college at the time and a friend went to Georgia Tech and I went to UCONN.

His semester finished at the end of November and mine finished December 23rd.

So he came up to visit me one year and brought a six pack of that stuff. We laughed and I tossed it in the closet.

Well at the end of the semester, I was finishing finals and wanted to celebrate a little. College students never have all that much money, but have even less at the end of the semester, especially when they have to buy Christmas presents for their family.

So I tossed it in the fridge and let it get cold.

I couldn't finish the second one, it was that bad. Mind you, we would regularly drink Red White and Blue, which is the cheap version of Pabst Blue Ribbon, so we had a low tolerance level.

Haffenreffer AKA "Headwrecker". God, that stuff tasted awful. We drank it back in the day because it was way stronger than regular american beers and a more efficient buzz, but that's not the worst I ever had.

My Old Man used to drink Carling Black Label in the GIQ bottles. So, one hot summer night when I was around 14 I stole a bottle from our screened porch where he stored them and that beer was probably 90 degrees. I go out into the woods with two of my cousins for our very first tastes of beer and it was so revolting that I ended up shooting foam rockets out of each nostril. I didn't drink another beer for about 3 years after that, but I discovered then that cold beer was quite an improvement and that not all beer tasted the same.

Recently, I was in a joint that had a bucket of beers on the bar and lo and behold there was a Black Label in the mix. I hadn't seen one for decades, but I had to buy one and have a toast to my Dad and the hard-won lessons of youth.

Yep. Still tasted gross.

My uncle used to drink Balentine XXX which has recently been repositioned as an IPA.

Sickest I've ever been from drinking in my whole life was from Rainer Ale aka The Green Death. It was epic.

I have only made it a few times. Out of curiosity, what kind of dilution do you guys use after it is done "brewing?" Straight? 1:1 with water? etc...
