San Rafael High, where this got started, is about 3 MS from my house. That explains a lot.
So, did you go to the Louis Pasteur statue, OBF? Or is it sealed off for the day?
Love that area, especially Angel Island, Mt. Tam., and Muir Woods/Muir Beach.

Sounds like you've been here and seen the glories of Marin County. When I moved from NE, thought I would never have as fabulous countryside. This part of the country is completely unlike my growing up roots, but both have their allure. Couldn't choose one over the other.

California born and reared. Grew up in So Cal and always thought (hoped) I'd end up in NorCal. Married a New England gal in grad school, so here I am, but my heart is always being called West.

So we did exactly the opposite thing! I grew up in CT/VT, then moved to CA to go to grad school at Berkeley. Once I got here, there was no going back, but it took me a really long time to get used to having no drastic seasonal changes. Just didn't seem like fall w no colorful leaves or Christmas w no snow. But have learned that CA has its own seasonal changes - just much more subtle. And ps - So CA and No CA might as well be different countries!

But the punchline is: WE'RE BOTH DIEHARD PATRIOTS FANS!

It's like O'Douls...

No THC/buzz.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the most important healing substances in the hemp plant with a strong anti-inflammatory effect without a psychotropic (narcotic) effect. CBD hemp oil also works against convulsions, anxiety, insomnia, neuropathic pain and ulcers.

Thanks for the info. A friend of mine tells me the human body actually has a "cannabinoid system" - like the lymphatic system, respiratory system, etc. According to him, our anatomy has these receptors, but it has not been identified/authenticated by "official" medicine as yet. My surmise is that there are MANY things as yet unknown to the AMA.

Just FYI, St. Patrick's (Padraig) Day is a holy day in Ireland. A holy day of obligation where one goes to Mass and eats a nice meal and visits the graves of your departed loved ones.

The American horror of St. Patrick's Day, which has spread back to Ireland to keep the tourists happy, has every douche bag wearing a "kiss me, I'm Irish shirt, a green foil leprechaun hat and getting shit faced is about as cool as if everyone donned a foil Yarmulke, a kiss me I'm Hebrew tee shirt and got shit faced on Yom Kippur.

And corned beef and cabbage is a Boston Boiled Dinner which considerably predates Irish immigration. Irish could not afford to eat beef, ever.

So you're saying we've done to St. Patrick's Day what we've done to every other holiday?

.
Good to know.

Q: Why are there no vending machines in Ireland?
A: Because St. Paddy drove out all the snacks.

Sorry - I couldn't help myself.
