I'll be "that guy"...why is Gruden such a hot ticket? Dude's last playoff win was in the 2002 SB run and he coached 6 more years after that.

Beaglebay has disabled reputation
Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Plus, you can't hear what he's saying if he's on the sideline

Gruden is a smart football man.

The game excites him, nothing wrong with that.

The problem I have with Gruden (though, also with pretty much every other "colorguy/analyst") is all the pre-scripted rants that start before players begin unpiling and often don't end until after the next snap and have little or no relevance to what's happening in the game itself.

Gruden is loud and obnoxious. Nantz is smarmy, imperious and relentless. Wilcots is an inarticulate idiot.

Regardless of their style or how much/little they know about football, they all talk way too much without saying anything. Meanwhile, we're continually hitting the Review button to go back and see who made that tackle (because the booth didn't tell us) or what the flag might have been for, or who the injured player is, because these guys have already gone on to their "pearls of wisdom" without even being aware that something's happened. And this isn't just a couple times per game, it's 3-4 times per possession.

As far as I'm concerned, ALL of those guys can just go away and get jobs coaching or doing something different.

I still want to know how Ryan kept his job. HE had to make sanchez & GM the scapegoat. This is 2 years in a row the jets has embarssed them selfs.

fyp

Rex is still being loyal to Sanchez. Pointing the finger at Tanny is something a 1st grader could do easily since Tanny is actually to blame for the cap issues and most of the personnel issues on the Jets.
