That made it 20 TDs in 21 games after his injury... then Hundley happened.

Amendola to the Dolphins

Dorsett will be lucky to make the team. Britt too unless he has a heck of an off season with Tom.

Jules is great but coming off a major injury. Mitchell also missed the entire 2017 season.

Depending on the price of course.

Cooks will probably be gone after next year too, so if we are planning forward Nelson can be a good signing for the right price.

But we have to do something on D.

Nelson was to be paid just over $10M for 2018. GB offered a lower contract to Nelson and Nelson refused. He's been linked by many to the Patriots and he's said to have interest in the Pats but I've read nothing that says the Pats are interested back.

Quote:
Nelson, 33, spent his entire 10-year career in Green Bay, but he slowed down significantly last season. His yards per catch was 9.1 in 2017 and he managed just 53 receptions and 483 yards in 15 games, which was much lower than previous years.
Given that he signed a four-year, $39 million contract extension in 2014, it would be hard for the Packers to justify paying those rates as his productivity has declined.
http://www.sportingnews.com/nfl/news...81btda6i3z5hhs
He's too old for a "prove it" deal so he should get $5-7M or more from some team, possibly the Raiders. The Pats won't go near that figure with a full stable of WRs already on board although Mitchell's health is still an unknown. Edelman, Cooks, Hogan, Mitchell, Britt, Dorsett and a draftee/UDFA for the PS should be enough for 2018.

With all our other FAs we have to sign with limited money, I have a hard time believing Jordy Nelson will be a Patriot.

In fairness to Nelson, he had Hunley throwing him the ball for half the season.

I guess but this idea that he had this sharp drop off and that it was not primarily due to Rodgers missing more than half the season seems ingenuous as best. I am sure he is slowing down somewhat given his age and injuries but Rodgers had 16 TDs and 6 picks in the 6 1/2 games he played. Hunley had 9 Tds and 12 picks in the 9 1/2 games he played. That is a HUGE drop off at the QB position.

Getting on the same page as Brady is not easy. I expect either Dorsett or Britt to make a 2nd year leap and this roster will be looking damn good.

I hope you’re right.

I shudder thinking about the season relying on it though.
