Not gonna hold it against him, all he ever did was bring it.

Makes me a little sad. But he gave us five years, all with afccg trips, three SB trips and 2 more Titles. There in the moment. In my memory he's alltime, all-Pats.

All the best Danny.

Packers released WR Jordy Nelson.
The move clears $10.2 million in cap space and leaves behind a modest $2.3 million in dead money. It's a stunning development in that Nelson is a Packers institution, but it's not surprising in the context of a soon-to-be 33-year-old receiver coming off a concerning campaign. Looking visibly slower, Nelson saw his yards per catch crash to 9.1 in 2017. He struggled with both Aaron Rodgers and Brett Hundley under center. Despite his age, the drop off was surprising after Nelson bounced back so well from his torn ACL in 2016. Healthy now, Nelson won't hurt for teams wanting to take a flier

That's the thing...the Pats had DA on a pitch count to save him for the playoffs and that's a point to consider. The Dolphins are paying him $6M/ after the Pats paid him $1.7M last year. If the Dolphins try to use DA the way they used Jarvis Landry (161 targets) DA won't last long.

DA and Cooks both had 4 drops for the year.
Cooks had 42 1st downs; DA had 40.
Those 4 extra catches Cooks made were good for 5 extra TDs and 430 extra yards. Long passes don't have the same completion % as short passes...fact.

His value to the Pats ranked right up there with Gronk last year.
1084 to 1082 yds
8 TDs to 7 TDs

Cooks isn't "my boy" but he's a much better player than you are willing to give him credit for. I'm glad we have him this year.

Jordy Nelson wants to be a Patriot apparently. Could be a decent replacement if the price is right?
