So Lewis, Butler and Amendola all got paid and are gone. Not three superstar players, but that is a lot of production to replace with the 7m cap hit they had combined in 2017.

Really wanted them to pay Lewis :( As much as I love Danny, Lewis is the biggest loss by far given he was he first marquee running back weve had in a long time. With Tom getting up their in age it would have been nice to keep that threat.

Me too. I don't get it. We extended White last year and we don't get Lewis done this year. Makes little sense. He was our entire offense for stretches of the season last year. His position is low money when compared to the other skill positions. It seemed like a no brainer to me to sign him first but I guess not.

I’m curious how everybody here feels about what’s happened so for regarding the Pat’s & FA? Obviously, BB has always done a great job filling holes with less than elite talent but does this feel different to you guys?
Matt Patricia, DA, MB & DL all seem to be bigger than usual losses, plus it looks like there’s a good chance Nate Solder moves on as well.

Is there any worry here that those holes might b too numerous & too big to fill successfully?

It is still very early. I am not surprised by any of the FA losses as all were offered big contracts. I am still hopeful we retain Solder. That would be a pretty big loss but certainly not insurmountable give we have the draft and Scar.

My overall feeling is the Pats are still on track to dominate because of how awful the AFC is. The AFC actually got weaker this off-season which I did not think would be possible given how bad it was last year but see my thread on the AFC being a ghost town that does not attract top talent. Pitt basically can't do anything because they tagged Bell again. Dumb. The Jags extended Bortles which renders them still inept at the most crucial position. The Broncos are in rebuild mode. The AFC east got worse with Miami jettisoning its talent, the Bills have no QB and the Jetes could not attract any QB to sign there despite offering the most money. And I have not even touched on the awful coaching that permeates the entire conference.

This is why Brady can play until 45 and keep winning league MVPs. So to answer your question, I am not worried at all precisely because of how weak the AFC is.

McKinnon signed by 49ers.

Would’ve been a great DLew replacement.

Team that had a prolific offense and suspect defense has lost 3 huge cogs on Offense, CB2 on Defense, and the generational All Pro TE ponders a career change in WWE, film, and/or Nickelodeon.

I’m going back to bed.

Meh...if they didn't want to keep Amendola, I can't imagine they're going to pay the money that Nelson is going to get.
Suh has never played in anything but a one gap system. I don't think he'd be interested in wrapping up blockers so LBs can make tackles.

If anyone told me Gilleslee, Allen, Bolden, Ebner, and Britt would survive and some be extended on the first couple of days of FA and DA, DLew, Butler, and Solder would depart Id laugh at their stupid face.
