How are you making out in storm recovery?

Last night I was bored so kids and I drove to canal and tried to get to the water. All areas were blocked off by cops or workers. Stopped in one place on Rte 6 Wareham and to get to water but an eversource employee came over and suggested I leave. A half busted utility pole was above me. Stayed for high tide at the Viking Dock then head home. Took 45 minutes from highway to house (typically 15) as I went all over the place avoiding closed roads.

Thank a cop, fireman, town worker, utility worker for all they do helping in these storms when only idiots is out and about.

A Wareham fire fighter was hit and run last night just doing his job helping people.

Today I am avoiding the areas as requested but man I wish I was there to see it all.

I was fortunate to have no issues at all. But a lot of trees on housed and power outages. My brother in laws neighbor had a tree fall on his car. This was while driving. He walked away with minor injuries. The car was utterly crushed. Scary. I'll post a pic if I can get to my PC soon.

Lost power for about 5 hours yesterday. Thankfully it came back on because my sump pumps have been running continuously all day.

Had a very large tree in the front yard come down across the driveway and was held up by the electrical wires from the house to the street. They were definitely going to snap. Called Eversource, never thinking they would help out because they usually only cut branches and stuff from trees along the the sidewalks impacting the wires, but they had a tree-cutting company at the house within 40 minutes. They said if the wire snapped, it was live and could land on the house, so they would take care of it. Very lucky.

Beaglebay has disabled reputation
I lost power Friday at 11AM, and it was back on last night around 10PM. I worked most of the hours it was off, and we were super busy as we were one of the few restaurants open in the area.

The ride home from work Friday night was hair-raising; Rt 6 looked like a war zone, with trees, branches, poles, fences, and signs all over the highway.

Thankful temperatures weren't lower during this storm.

Belichick (1/24/15) I would not say Im the Mona Lisa Vito of the football world as she was in the car expertise area.

You can say that again. Imagine the amount of snow this storm would have generated!
At 30 degrees, we would have been looking at 45-50" of snow.

We got real lucky here. We were on the backend, worst of it was sustained 30-40 MPH winds with gusts up to 60.

Lost power around 2 pm Friday. Got it back Sunday at 9:30 am. Flooding in the basement through the sump pump (no generator). About 6 inches of water in the unfinished(thank the Lord) basement. Bought a generator and pumped it out Saturday morning.

All in all, not terrible. The wife and kids went to stay with my in laws while I kept an eye on the house both nights.

I'm going to be looking into that. I was able to get a small cheap generator that ran the pump and 2 fans to dry things out.
