BB did really hamstring Brady in the weapons dept...it might be the worst team that BB assembled in the wr/te areas. Obviously AB only played for what...one game? Gordon went off the rails (again). Harry was hurt. Meyer wasn't ready. Dorsett was invisible. Edelman was the only dew that was any good.

Yeah I dont know. AB you couldnt see coming. Dorsett took a step back, Harry missed half a season, Gordon as you said went off the rails. I dont really blame anyone for it. I was mad about TE, but it was not as though great receivers were lined up out there. Offense just really took some hits, and one thing caused other things. Oline hurt run game, and how much time guys had to get open, so one thing lead to another most of the year. I still think we need speed and Im not talking about throwing 50 yard passes, but these guys are not even getting separation on crossing routes. It seems so congested everywhere.

Patriots owner Robert Kraft on Tuesday broke his silence on quarterback Tom Brady’s impending free agency. Kraft was asked by a TMZ Sports reporter if the Patriots are going to keep Brady in New England. “We plan to,” Kraft said in New York.

Slater and DMac both said yesterday they want to play next year. Question is how much $$. Both said they have a hard thinking of themselves in a different uniform.

I hope Pats keep up their FA paying structure which has been pretty fair and away from their motherhood and apple pie "Low Ball" strategy. I am highly confident that we will loose some players to FA because it happens on the Pats every single year like last year or year before Butler, Fyan, Lewis, etc.

Of course, the biggest Pats FA ? will be the GOAT ! We should know very soon....

My guess is that he'll never do anything of note in public again after his career is over here, which I hope was a few weeks ago.

I can't really see him using his name and rep to plug reverse mortgages or be a celebrity judge on a muffin baking show or anything like that.

I'd love to hear him do the Tony Romo thing just to see if he could be good at it, but I question whether he has enough persona/charisma to be relaxed and entertaining for folks that weren't already Patriots fans.

I mean, he might be, but I've only seen a glimpse here and there over the last 20 years. Tom is polished, sure, but he isn't really a regular Joe.

TB12 will be increased nationally I presume. That should earn what Romo makes easily. I don’t think he’ll have the need, aside from cameo playoff appearances possibly.

I agree he's no future pitch man (although he has done some advertising) and probably not a talking head (wants to BE on the field, not commentate on the field), but I could see him entering politics. He's always very even-handed and diplomatic in interviews. Plus, lots of name recognition already. Senator Tom?

Tova Katz, a fellow resident of Brookline, Mass., recently wrote a blog in which she praised Brady’s parenting. Katz claimed her son was a youth sports teammate of Benny Brady’s for several seasons. The post, titled

“Our Kids Played Youth Sports Together…Here’s What I Learned About Tom Brady,” contains a few anecdotes that Patriots fans likely will find fascinating.

Here are some excerpts: — “You are so many things, Tom: star athlete, husband, dad, son and brother, record holder, six-time Super Bowl champion, four-time Super Bowl MVP, beloved son of New England. But possibly what’s most impressive is that you are simply a mensch: a decent, kind human being, a leader and role model for our children.” — “For multiple seasons, our sons played hockey together on the Brookline youth hockey team. Like all the other parents, you brought Benny up the hill to the outdoor Larz Anderson rink and waited outside in the wind and biting cold, standing on the snowy practice ice, as the kids skated under the stars. After practice, you lined up with other parents to bring a bumper to the storage shed — just another hockey dad there to help.

I remember a Sunday night hockey game in late January, just hours before the Pats boarded buses to fly out to Houston for Super Bowl LI. You were there, like any parent grabbing some last-minute quality time with your son before the demands of the workweek crept in on Monday.” —

“Decades from now, when my grandkids ask me about what it was like to live through the era of the great Tom Brady, I’m not going to tell them about passing records and rings. I’m going to tell them about the dad in a big down coat and wool hat who stood next to me on a freezing night at Larz Anderson rink watching his kid discover the joy of sport — a joy that you, Tom, instill in so many of us grateful fans. On behalf of the parents of New England, from the bottom of so many hearts: Thank you.”

Of course, you're totally right. I should have definitely mentioned politics.

He's been practicing deflecting tough questions with smooth bullshit and cliches for 20 years now and he's superb at it. Not that I'm blaming him for all of that.

I don't even know if he's interested, which has been speculated on here and there, but the same on-point focus he's shown in pressers 99% of the time would likely serve him well in the strange profession of getting people to elect you to shit. Plus, while he doesn't need the money, it's attractive to a lot of folks who want to be the Alpha and that's what our boy is about.

Ok, I was probably only half-right that he'd never do much of anything public when he hangs it up. He could end up being the POTUS, but as you said, he'd probably start small as a Senator or something.

I don't even know if anybody could dig up any real dirt on the guy.
