I am very saddened by the passing of my friend through correspondence since the 90's when it was just email and letters.

We wrote many times and he sent me an autographed copy of his limited print book Raindance Over The Rockies in the the 90's. We kept in touch over the years.

Tremendous spirit, great philosophical mind, epic lyricist and one of the best percussionists in history. True renaissance man.

And so it it was.

The world lost a hero.

2112 is epic piece of philosophical work that requires some unpacking of it's ideas to be fully understood.

The 2112/A Farewell to Kings/Hemispheres output is up there with the greatest 3 year span of music ever written and produced. And I enjoyed every single moment of it ;-)

Permanent Waves was one of my first LPs. I got it as 1 of 12 for a penny.

Freewill has long been my favorite song.

I was fortunate to see them on their last tour in Boston with my teenage son. His first Rush show.

I am currently listening to their catalog in reverse. Forgot how good the albums Counterparts and Roll the Bones were.

RIP Neil
