Sorry my condolences. I lost my best furball last summer she was 17 going on 18. I do have fur grandbabies and a new pup. It's hard and there is never a replacement but ...... You'll know when the time is right.

Very, very sorry to hear of your furkid's passing. I have had many 4-legged besties over the years and losing them never gets any easier. It's not like you can "get used to it" or anything like that. I know no cure for the grief. Just bawl your head off and look at pictures and let yourself feel how you feel. Slowly but very slowly you will somehow not feel like crying every time you think of them, as the joy and wonderfulness of having had them in your life eventually triumphs over the agony of losing them. But I sure I know it doesn't feel like that right now.

RIP little doggie. And you hang in there.

What OBF said. Wish I could say it as well as she.

Have loved all my Dogs. The great thing is that in the fullness of time, and you'll know when that is, it will be time for a new bff and the wonder will begin anew.

Condolences.

This is the place to vent if you want. It is a very difficult time when we lose a companion who existed to make us happy, to please us. The pack is one member smaller. It doesn't get easier but over time we begin to remember the good more than the loss and reflect on what we were blessed to have once had.

I know how you feel brother, it truly does suck losing a beloved pet. For us, they are truly a part of our family and it's not easy getting over their passing. You were blessed to have him for 18 years, that is an eternity in dog years. Condolences to you bud.

Condolences,

I can remember how I felt when I lost my furkid Sammy 5 odd years ago. She was a Chow and the smartest dog I've ever known. She did a wonderful job of protecting my wife and house when I was on long business trips.

I would tell her "Protect!" when I left, and she took her job seriously.

I never worried about home when I traveled, because I knew that if some poor dumb son of a bitch made the mistake of breaking in, she would ruin his whole day.

So cherish the memories and remember the words of the philosopher McCoy

I am sorry for your loss. It always is gut wrenching whether expected or not. May your beloved Peanut R.I.P.

Most animals are MUCH cooler than people (are many "people" really just hypnotized robotic sheep?)...sans lions, tigers, bears and the rare sasquatch.

Sorry man! My wife and I have owner rhodesian ridgebacks for 29 years. We've lost 4 of them over that time and it never gets any easier. We currently have two RR boys and a new addition.... a Mini Bull Terrier named Bongo. All any of us can do is give them the best possible life we can and it certainly sounds like you did that for your little guy.
