Don't know about the suicide, but being locked up in a cell for years, might be considered conduct detrimental.

I'm assuming that he actually wrote only "John 3:16" on his head even though I heard it reported as if he wrote the whole verse. If he did that, then, yes, he was really in Wtf territory at the end.

I'm spitballing here, because I've never tried it, but I don't imagine blood works really great as ink.

The other question is why didn't he just use the red marker, but if he smoked that shit then I suppose logic wasn't a huge part of the equation.

I hate the verse only because it reminds of the moron in the endzone with the sign, all those years on television.

the gun charges could void the contract and get the Patriots some cap relief according to Miguel of Patscap - nothing is definite as we found out with PSI but Miguel and a few Lawyers have read the deal and claim it to be so.

I heard just the John 3:16, but I do wonder if he had the rainbow wig on like that guy who was on TV in the late 70's/early 80's all the time holding up the 3:16 sign Rollen Stewart

my reason is the rainbow and its association with the GLBT, seems kind of weirdly tied together after the claims of his preference.

McCann discusses the aftermath
https://www.si.com/nfl/2017/04/20/aa...low_twitter_si

A very small piece of his article
Quote:
A CTE diagnosis might also be used by Hernandezís estate to defend against civil lawsuits filed by family members of Hernandezís victims and alleged victims. As explained on Wednesday, those civil lawsuits will likely be impaired to some extent by Massachusetts recognizing ďabatement ab initio,Ē a legal principle that dictates that if a convicted defendant dies before his or her appeals have been resolved, the conviction is vacated. Victimsí family members, who can contest the imposition of abatement in court, can sue Hernandezís estate regardless of whether he has a criminal record. Those lawsuits, however, would have been strengthened by the presence of related criminal convictions. Hernandezís estate being able to argue that CTE diminished Hernandezís culpability would bolster the defense.

Possibility of Hernandezís family filing a wrongful death lawsuit against the NFL
It is also possible that a CTE diagnosis would lead to Hernandezís next of kin to consider the possibility of suing the NFL for wrongful death. In the aftermath of former San Diego Chargers star Junior Seau committing suicide in 2012, Seauís family sued the NFL for wrongful death. The family claimed that CTE led Seau to kill himself and that the NFL hid from Seau the dangers of repeat neurological trauma. In 2014, Seauís family opted out of the then-pending NFL settlement. By opting out, the family could continue to sue the league (if family members had instead remained part of the settlement, they would have received financial compensation in exchange for voluntarily dismissing the lawsuit).
Does the NFL concussion settlement extend to Hernandez and, by extension, his family? If the answer is yes, then Hernandezís family may be barred from pursuing a wrongful death lawsuit and would instead need to pursue a claim through the settlement. If the answer is no, then Hernandezís relatives would not be barred from suing the NFL for wrongful death.
The settlement class consists of all living NFL players (as of a couple years ago) who prior to July 7, 2014 formally or informally retired from the NFL or who were not under contract and not seeking active employment. There is no indication that Hernandez formally retired from the NFL at any point or that he or his family sought benefits from the settlement.

This thing is going to turn into one huge cluster **** of cash grabbing, media crazed, relatives, friends, victims..... going at each other for years to come. In the end AH's legacy is that he will have created trust funds for more lawyer's childrens education than any murdering, bisexual tight end in history.

Thanks for the link. While I enjoy MCann very much, reading that article had me thinking about just how much things have changed around the NFL.

I still love the actual games, but this Hernandez story has a little bit of every element that I hate in trying to mind my own business and actually watch them.

You've got the pampered athlete who was coddled in college and still managed to screw up, the owner on his heels explaining why he gave him a chance, the player being excellent enough on the field to strike it rich, the duped owner crowing about their special relationship and then gangsta activity and murders all leading to the dramatic death scene complete with religious stigmata, a note to a gay lover, the brain scenario and now a scramble for the scraps replete with lawyers, guns and money.

The shit really hit the fan with this saga.

It'll be a smash hit Broadway musical one of these days. I nominate the people who did The Book of Mormon.

For sure. I do not see going away anytime soon. Hence my earlier post (#100) ( enjoy quoting me. ):

Prediction

Query:

How long can I take it.
