I feel you'll see Gillislee as the three down back, Burkhead as the third down RB/situational RB, White as the RB who can catch the passes as well acting as a semi WR/RB, Lewis to another team.

Like I said the other day before somebody on here said it would be silly to sign Gillislee, I took look at analytics when trying to find a particular player for our team.

Since we don't need a WR in the draft, we can concentrate on the defensive side of the ball, and in my mind, we need to personally draft a replacement for Gostkowski.

Lewis would be the one RB who's a mortal lock for the roster. This is like the "Amendola is gone' thing.

All four RBs will be on the roster. Full stop. I do think Lewis and Gillislee compete for the feature back spot.

Thank f'ing god Blount's gone. I couldn't handle another year of that.

Soon I hope. I feel uncomfortable winning March and April along with everything else.

Last year the Pat's carried 5 RB's, once Lewis returned.

Blount, Lewis, White, Bolden, and Foster.

Bolden was exclusively a ST player.

Typically Foster wasn't on the game day roster, so they only had four of the five on game day.

Even if we assume Burkhead doesn't take over Bolden's ST roles, allowing the latter to be cut, you really think that the Pats would rather have Foster over Lewis? Especially since I believe Foster is still eligible for the practice squad.

Of course, it would all have to do with what someone would offer for Lewis, But I'd think that BB would prefer the depth of having two guys at each of the RB styles.

Another year of 3.1 ypc in the playoffs. The Patriots can piece together the TDs. Scoring is not an issue.

Sorry, Blount's in the game, it's 80+% run. That's wasting a play, even the dumbest defenses know that.

Blount was fool's gold. Before you get upset that he's gone, remember that the Pats made zero effort to bring him back beyond a low ball offer. They know he's not worth the money. If you feel bad about it, watch him in the Super Bowl last February. His 18 TD's remind me of Deisuke Matsuzaka's 18 wins in 2007. Completely fraudulent

Gillislee is a significant upgrade of LG.

This is the perfect example. Put up a bunch of wins against crap competition during the early part of the season, slowed down in the last month (just so happens Cleveland and Toronto were basket cases down the stretch), and are a virtual no-show in the playoffs - because the team knows exactly how to defend them.

I've said it a bunch of times. Blount was 3.9 ypc for the season (around league average), 3.3 ypc after Week 10, 3.1 in the playoffs. James White (who, if you blow on him, he falls down), proved to me in the Super Bowl that anyone can score from 2-yard line.

I agree...I like Blount, but, he is a roach clip now. BB milked every last TD outta him. At least 96.8% of them anyway...

Yes, very likely they would take Lewis over Foster. IMO.

Also, Foster is only practice squad eligible in theory. He was on the practice squad last year and someone tried to sign him, so the Pats put him on the 53 for the rest of the year so as not to lose him. That should give a clue as to how they view him in the long term.

2017, I think Lewis might be the better choice, but long-term, Foster is the better choice. Good as he is, you just can't depend on Lewis to be on the field.

I agree that Gillislee is a LOT better than Blount, but I read that the Pats offer to Blount was $3 mil. If so, they think more highly of him than we do. Also, if true, Blount is a moron for not pulling a hammy getting to Gillette to sign that deal.

Seems to be a solid player so long as he can follow along with the Patriots offence.
