Deadwood and Justified were both phenomenal. I'm a Timothy Olyphant fan, and he was great in both of them.

But Ian McShane in Deadwood? He just killed it.

Thanks for the tip. I'll check out Going Clear. Yes, Scientology is an unbelievable racket cooked up by some dude who had taken too much LSD and couldn't make it as a science fiction writer. Not only is it 100% coo coo, but it is also nefarious and ensnares the gullible into spilling their secrets as future blackmail material. Again, I don't get how some people are so lonely, friendless or clueless as to get in line with crappola that surely HAS to seem whacko even to them.

L Ron Hubbard has produced more works of fiction than anyone in the history of time and that doesn't even include the scientology gibberish.

I don't think Isaac Azimov is worried.

OK, here's my cut.

Babylon 5. One could skip much of season 5, since TNT fracked Strazinski by not renewing in time, so he basically "finished" in 4 seasons. Watch the last episode of season 5 at least.

Available on go90.com

Firefly, followed by watching Serenity. Joss Whedon, nuff said. Honerable mention, last season of Angel by Joss. IMHO, one of the best final episodes of any series of all time.

Broadchurch, from BBC. One of the best drama's I've seen in recent years. Superb story, acting and plenty of twists and turns.

Dennis Miller Live: been doing this lately on demand. He's still funny as hell and it's scary how much the jokes and topics apply just as well today as they did in the '90's.

Old School mention, HBO's From the Earth to the Moon the episode 1968 is surreal, especially for those of us old enough to have lived through that year.

I think you've got a bit as they've just started production after some minor reshuffling.

Oh, also OPT is right that Firefly and serenity are super bingable.

You'll be amazed. Watch it. And then check out Leah Remini's fine series Scientology and the Aftermath on A&E which reiterates just how many people have had their entire lives destroyed by this evil and nefarious "religion". It's gut-wrenching at times, but also very compelling. She's doing a great service to everybody involved and has shown a lot of courage to take them on.

And I think you hit the nail on the head. A lot of folks will do or believe just about anything to be able to feel like they are part of a group, but there is a sinister genius behind the design of Scientology whereby people bond with the group first and then find out it's all a sham much later in the process when they are already in too deep to leave.

Hubbard was a terrible writer and a psychopath, but there is no doubt in my mind that he is a twisted genius to have invented a way to get rich beyond belief based on the simple human need to help others and belong to something.

I tried to read Dianetics back when it was first a huge bestseller and before I knew anything about Scientology but after about 30 pages I realized that it was complete, lunatic garbage. Come to find out that all the new converts were forced to buy cases of the book and then return them unopened and the same book was sold multiple times. That's how it stayed a bestseller for many years. Bizarre, but true. And pretty shrewd.

What if I liked the book? What if I took the "free personality test" and started going to meetings? It terrifies me to think that I could have been one of those poor folks that bought into that shit.

Our definition of binging is watching more than 1 episode in a week.

The best one for us was Breaking Bad. We also binged on The Crown, Victoria and Downton Abbey. We tend to like those British dramas. And we've been going through 7 seasons of Veep over the past 6 months.
